QUOTE(Gormaz @ Aug 19 2010, 02:28 PM) I liked Tali so much in ME2 that I went back to replay ME1 to not have romance with Liara so I can romance Tali without breaking up any romance...(I also wanted to go back and save the Rachni Queen which I killed in my first playtime) Read that if you "cheated" on your ME1 romance in ME2, there will be consequences in ME3 Liara is the shadow broker, she won't have time for Shepard in ME3

If we have to use spoiler even on that game then might as well spoiler the whole thread. I suggest that if you don't want to get spoiled then avoid this thread until you are finished with the game. QUOTE(Grif @ Sep 20 2010, 10:56 PM) I want the Mako back. Sigh... As I discovered in one of the old ME 2 threads awhile back, it seems that the majority of ppl who miss the Mako or liked the Mako missions, didn't actually get (Or at least try) the achievement where you discovered EVERYTHING in the game... and the converse is true. The Mako is indeed kinda fun to drive, but it doesn't handle itself well when going up sheer cliffs... This wouldn't be a problem if there weren't many sheer cliffs in the game (Which you only really encounter if you only go for the secret locations), so dozens and dozens of locations later, the Mako is more revolting than joyous to drive in (I hate it so much I actually prefer the mining games in ME2 to the Mako). If they want to bring back the Mako, remove the exploration bits or at least let the Mako handle itself better over very rocky, mountain-like terrain.

Yeah, the only thing I hate about the Mako segments is the having to figure a way up those steep inclines.
The Hammerhead is kinda fun, but I hate those platforming jumps. And the stupid lack of shields.

Considering that I only have 4 characters in ME, (2 in 360, 2 on the PC), and I try, seriously, TRY to get as much minerals and secrets (I still haven't gotten the achievement yet to be honest), my opinion is that the Mako is a piece of shit when the terrain is basically like how players spammed volcanoes in Magic Carpet. It's also not fun when you're repositioning yourself in order to get a good hit on things around you. It's tedious and even though it's minor, it doesn't add to the game. I don't consider just positioning myself into order to hit something as strategy. There's no merit in the Mako, and it's good riddance that it's gone.

Then again, I never submitted myself to the tedium of exploring planets to for the sake of completion.

I played an old game race game named Insane (or 1nsane or whatever) a few years back during uni, it was like a perfect training for the Mako and climbing cliffs, super fun in LAN with friends too =P
I got achievement for finding everything in my last ME1 replay (there are actually extra minerals available) and didnt really find it hard to climb stuff, golden rule is "never climb totally upfront, always with an angle to the climb" I do admit I used the wiki to get locations of the secret stuff though, it was on my 4th replay and I just wanted a "perfect" run for import into ME2
There are actually few places you can't climb if you never stop, have a bit of initial speed and take the climb with an angle.
I did found the Mako a bit boring after a while but I think I still prefered it to the scan in ME2, at least it "looks" a bit like a game, not like a boring work-related stuff

Well, the achievement gave you a bonus for future playthroughs, so its not like I was purely doing it to satisfy some OCD fantasy.
