i think the Discover RM48 is
RM53 ( buy your own modem )
http://www.digi.com.my/broadband/packages_byo.html

then another RM5 discount if you sign up auto debit.

So is RM48

Modem can get outside RM199.

So any Digi dealer / Center can apply.

what modem are you using? What test speed you get?
I'm using Vista, no problem at all. Upload many files every day from 10k- 500k.
Even upload 4MB photo to facebook also no problem.

Suggest you remove the digi software and re-install back.

I don't think you can upload a 4MB photo because Facebook automatically rescale the resolution and JPEG quality prior to uploading. For my case, if I upload pictures via the JAVA interface it works. However if I use the non-java interface where I want to just post a simple picture, it will not work. The same goes for video uploading. No matter what browser I use, it never works.

I don't know if this is a Facebook problem since its service quality has been notorious from the start. All I know is that it works early this year even when using Digi.

i know facebook will auto compress to low resolution.
When using java, it only take 10 second to upload 1 photo.
When using non-java, it will take about 1 minute to upload.
After upload, both will auto resize to lower resolution.

I also sometime having uploading issue when using facebook using java interface.
First time upload is ok. After that i i want to upload more, it will not able to upload pictures.
I think facebook got problem on the java upload script. Even my streamyx also fail to upload.
I have to restart computer to upload, then it will be fine.

I have been using DIGI’s earlier version of broadband which uses the EDGE technology for 2 years now. It served its purpose in the beginning as I am not a heavy user. However, over the last few months, I find that it is practically useless as it keeps going offline. As it was a 2 year contract, I have to continue paying the monthly fee even though I hardly get to use it now. Nowadays, I have had to resort to looking for WIFI enabled places to do most of my web surfing.

As the contract is nearing its end, I have been looking for an alternative. Looking at P1 W1MAX’s latest promotion where we get a 1 month trial period certainly looks enticing. But then, DIGI has also rolled out its new broadband which is supposed to be much faster than those offered by the other networks. It is contract-free and considering DIGI’s option offer more mobility, it is definitely a contender. Although P1 W1MAX’s answer to mobility is the WIGGY, even their reseller tells me that it is not reliable at the moment. Looking at their coverage map, both DIGI and P1 have good coverage in my area.

I have recently found out DIGI has set up kiosks where we are able to test out their broadband. While I have not tried it, it must mean they are quite confident of their performance. However, will DIGI be giving me the same problem 2 years down the road when they get more subscribers ? One P1 W1MAX reseller was telling me as DIGI’s system has to cope with voice calls, sms and the likes in addition to data traffic, their system is liable to being clogged as compared to P1 WIMAX which is solely for data traffic. Is this true or are they just pulling wool over my eyes ? Incidentally, one P1 W1MAX reseller told me there is plan to provide voice call service through their modem in the future too.

Based on my limited knowledge, I would say DIGI is a better bet. Anyone thinks differently ?

FYI, DiGi broadband/3G is run separately with 2G which is voice/sms/mms... they want to prevent congestion between the two platform

I stay at Sri Petaling, I check the coverage on digi website.
My area is not under 3G coverage, its' only EDGE.
and i stay at 18th floor.

Anyone have the same situation with me?
1. EDGE Coverage.
2. High Floor.

May I know the average speed ??
