I would very much like to join the Tourney. But due to my job, I can only make it to Cineleisure at around 4pm on the 28th sad.gif

Sigh, any other way I can make it, organizer?

Time to invest in a stick? I'm a Balrog player myself. Couldn't make it on time for the Tourney on Saturday due to work. Sigh. But played a few quick casual match during the breaks.

Good games, guys. Sorry I was too into the game and forgot to introduce myself earlier on.

I'm Nicholas, the guy with the 3 B Characters, Bison, Blanka and Balrog. The guy with Guile was Peter and the guy who didn't play Abel but played Blanka instead was Abel. LOL

P/S: Me and Abel don't own a console hence no PSN but Peter does. Hook him up. His PSN handle is Ex_Guile.

Cheers.

I knew. No worries.

Pity we didn't have much chance for our Boxer mirror match up. We shall have some more matches when time permits. Gonna try to discover more with my characters, saving up now. LOL.

Sakura was good in Zero 3 as I mentioned and fun to use. I always liked my SCHOOL-GIRL. However, not much can be done with her in SF4. There's a good reason why she's only available on console version and not arcade's. But very impressive combos and game play! And let's not forget the Human Guile as well!

Can't really blame Guile players for crouching most of the time. Guile is a charge-based character and all that matters to these kinda of character are the CHARGE. Furthermore, if you notice, most of Guile's moves are defensive. Guile is made a crouching/camping character. That's his play style. Try to trade hits whenever possible. But as for high/low/throw mixups, it's kinda risky as you'll never know when the ever-unforgiving FLASH KICK will come out. Even more unforgiving if it's an EX one

If it's a Guile who knows how to Charge-Buffer, the Sonic Boom will come out as soon as the earlier one disappeared. And to run to the other screen and wait each other out. I don't think the Guile will sit quietly there. He'll keep on throwing projectiles till he baits to do something he want you to.

And to run to the other side of the screen and wait each other out? LOL. You better have a 200 inch screen so you'll be at a safe distance. I am as what you are as well, MasterAlvin. I'm an offensive or rush-down kinda player. Hence, most of the time I'll either trade hits (if I'm lucky) or get bruised badly for my aggresiveness. Best is to have you arsenal of pokes, moves, or tricks when you intend to go in on the offense. All in all, more training and experience is much needed on my side.

Wished you were there Mike. Never really played with you offline before. Only thru laggy PSN games.

Turtling is nothing new in the fighting game scenes. I don't really find turtling players irritating. As a matter of fact, I find it that they make the game more interesting, at least for me. I will find a million and one way to get them out of the corner and start doing something not-so-wise and punish them. I find that a challenge, a fun one.

And as for twwong, if you notice, other than Guile, the rest of the Charge-Based characters don't really have projectiles to throw. In other words, they are not defensive characters in nature. And of course, I believe I didn't play very defensively (aka turtling) during the casuals or the matches. I'm a rush down kinda player as I am very very used to playing Urien in 3rd Strike.

Aiman, there are A LOT OF 3rd Strike players in the scene and there are A LOT OF Yuns as well. Micheal is one of the better ones. Try rawfish's Yun, or any Old Klang Road's PACMAN Yangs as well. If you think Yun's is scary, try playing a good Makoto. NIGHTMARE!!!!!!

P/S: Alan, I have yet to play you in 3rd Strike yet. Hmmmm...... When ar?

Dude, I AM MAKOTO

A pretty bad one, but a Makoto still.

Makoto/Dudley/Urien/Akuma/Chun

Probably because I never met much competition, so I never bothered to get good.

Let me know if you want some matches. Can be easily arranged with some USB joysticks and my old trusty laptop. Been playing the games for close to 10 years and beginning the games is slowly dying off. Another 3rd Strike session in Outpost sounds nice. My Urien's charge partition buffer and partition's beginning to get rusty. Need some matches to train up again. brows.gif

People who don't adopt and evolve will always be at the losing end - regardless if they play rush or turtle.

Food was good and reasonably priced, Alan. Don't worry. Although Peter mentioned why his Chicken Chop a bit more "hangus" than mine and Abel's. LOL. Perhaps add more new item in menu like "Hokkien Mee with extra Chu Yau CHar", "Chu Yoke" Noodles, "Ku Lou Yuk" Rice or even Marmite "Pai Kuat" Rice?

Speaking like a rich b@stard: Hmmm. Taito Vewlix. Interesting. I don't mind having one or two of those in my living room. How much does one of those retails for?

Hey Michael & Nick & Peter how come you all didn't join the major competition last month? If good players from your group competed the top 3 positions would change smile.gif.
*
Michael did join the tournament but was knocked out somewhere, somehow as he was in the same group as a lot of other Pro's. Not as lucky as others.

As for me and Peter, we had to work on that Saturday. I was there for both days of the tourney. I arrived on Saturday at around 2 pm. Didn't make it for the reporting in thingy.

Anyways, what you said was very flattering. Thank you so much. But I don't think I can make such huge impact even if I joined. I'm a very REALISTIC person. LOL. All of the top 3 winners from the big tourney are actually our SF kaki since long long time ago. It's no surprise they are the winners. They've been very good all these while.

I AM NOT THAT OLD LAH!!!!!!!!!!! Although MY first SF game is when I was 8 years old and I'm 30 this year. Oh sh*t! I AM THAT OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahahahahaha. There are a lot more for me to explore/exploit in the game. I spent too much time playing SF3:3rd Strike. Now having difficulty adapting.

And I actually admire your courage in having Akuma as your character. Akuma needs a lot of patience and courage as he takes damage quite bad. Someone once told me that Akuma is a DOUBLE EDGED SWORD. He deals damage like nobody's business but at the same time takes damage very badly as well. So, keep it up! Looking forward to playing you again.

As for Michael's case, it's a matter of luck sometimes. Some might have it smooth-sailing through out the whole tournament and reach to semi finals or something like that. While some might just be drawn into a group where all the top-ranked players are.

C'est la vie, monsieur. C'est la vie.

Want a competition of slowest reflexes?

Come la! A match between the old farts! No reflexes needed. I'll just crouch and block throughout whole game. And when necessary, I'll teleport away. PRACTISING VERY HARD ON MY TELEPORT NOW. thumbup.gif LOL!!!

Yo,

Was there with rawfish, Ex_Guile and mikeeeeee (couldn't be bothered to remember how many e's you have lah, hahaha). Had a few casual games. As per rawfish's comment, everything was fine.

The Xbox360 Hori Stick was good. It shares the same form factor of the Hori PS3 Fighting Stick 3 but only with 6 buttons. Everything was good. I only had one complain. The booth "tutup kedai" too early. I ordered Domino's to be delivered there, so can eat and play at the same time. HAHAHAHA. Thanks GH for the booth.

Alan, I saw you there too. You're posing with the mini GoKu. Hahaha.

P/S: No noticeable difference between the 360 and PS3's SF4. It's either I am very numb or you guys are over-sensitive. Plays and feels the same to me.
