cydia is just like appstore, can add source..weird, after restart should working..try jb using blackrain again, open cydia and choose cydia

Hey guys,i am going out to buy a new ipod touch 2nd gen 8GB model by this 15th of april,
I was also planning to jailbreak it on the day i buy it ... But here's the thing...
I was checking out wikipedia about jailbreak cause i dont know much about it...

and THIS is what i found :-

Jailbreakable Firmware
iPod Touch 2nd Generation (non-MC model) Yes[13] 2.1.1 - 3.1.3

iPod Touch 2nd generation (8GB MC model) Yes (tethered) 3.1 - 3.1.2

And i see that the "MC" Model can only do a tethered jailbreak...that aint good ,
What is this MC model!? ... How to check whether im buying the non-MC or MC model??

Im afraid i'll accidentally buy the MC model

there not much can be done on ipod jail breaking..only like themes..sbs settings...get it and use it...maybe the jailbreak will be out later...currently the price is low..due no jb solution...later once it is out..they might increase it...

after i download the blackra1n.exe...i try open it and i jus get tis error msg saying " this application has failed to start because ASL.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." HELP!!

as i know in Iphone JB will have Cydia so that can download app and can play download game
and just now one of the member told me that JB ipod touch only for Theme and SBS settings
so NON-Jb ipod touch can play download game and some apps?

8gb ipod touch is around rm720 and it is 2nd gen...warranty 1 yr.

32gb ipod touch is around rm1080 and it is 3rd gen...warranty 1 yr...

plz make this before you buy....because the 32gb is 3rd where it run exactly same as iphone 3gs faster ram and speed compare 8gb as iphone 3g....

[b]Finally after googling i managed to get it right


So the steps are

Step 1:

Make sure you have firmware 3.1.2 downloaded. You can download firmware 3.1.2 for iPod touch 3G or if you already had then you don’t need to download.
3.1.2 here

Step 2:

Once you have located the firmware 3.1.2 IPSW file, you need to put your iPod in Restore mode by following these steps carefully:

1. Make sure that your iPod touch is NOT CONNECTED to the PC/Mac
2. Now turn off your iPod touch.
3. Now hold the home button. Keep holding it for 10 seconds and then connect your iPod touch to PC/Mac while holding the Home button.
If you see the “Connect to iTunes" message on your iPod touch then it means you are now in recovery mode:

Final Step:

Once in recovery mode. All you need to do is:
1. Click on your iPod touch device on the iTunes side bar
2. Press Shift + Click on Restore button (PC) or Option + Restore (MAC) and you will be prompted to enter the firmware location. Give it the locations where your firmware 3.1.2 is located and click OK

Done Down grading

Download any jailbreak sw ... like blackRa1n etc
