i need a bit explanation on a few things then tmr i'll jailbreak my sis's ipod touch 2G
what is untethered and tethered? i tried to googled untethered jailbreak, it says

"An untethered jailbreak is a jailbreak where your device does not require you to reboot with a connection to an external device capable of executing commands on the device."

so what's the advantages of untethered over tethered? and i'm not sure what firmware my sis's ipod is running on, does that affect the result of jb?

and finally i notice there's a lot of jb tools out there, from what i read in this thread got redsnow, blackra1n, from what i've googled got quickpwn and pwnagetool

shytz, i go update my ipod to 3.1.3, then can't play those games ad.. and i try JB using blackrain.. it failed.. help!

just updated my ipt2g firmware to 3.1.3 via itunes.. now jb-ing (according to redmond pie's tutorial) via redsn0w 0.9.4 in progress.. hope evrythin goes well..

updated n jb'ed 3.1.3 with success! all my jb apps work.. gonna test d batt life these few days, compare it with prev firmware..

i already JBed my ipod touch using the blackrain in the 1st page..i have a few questions here
1. my ipod touch is 1st generation, is it tethered on untethered JBed?
2. can i use wifi connection through my laptop, as the connection cant be set up in the ipod to install cydia?

all you need is to back up your data and apps from your itunes and then you can upgrade. as for jailbreak, you have to check if 3.1.3 can jailbreak or not...

cant.. i'm using 32gb 3rd gen.. i think only 2nd gens and 3rd gen 8gb's can..

still can....if urs 1st or 2nd gen la...3rd cannot...

for those who cant jb, try using snowbreeze. i used that and it worked. mine is an older version of the 2g (December 2008), im not sure if it contributes to whether or not it can be jailbroken.

i've got an iPod Touch 3rdGen which holds the firmware for 3.1.3. was wondering if redsn0w works or not. as far as i know, they released it for iPhone but not iPod yet. has anyone tried? and did it succeed?
