Untethered means the same Jailbreak used on IpodTouch1G and Iphone?

If yes this will be great. For those who have been sucessfully JB using the untethered pls share your experience.

Hi guys need help here.
I fwas using QuickFreedom 1.2 on Ipod TOuch 2G
successfully restore Custom Firmware.ipsw
iTunes tell me it has been restored and that it is now restarting
Then itunes show me error
"itunes could not connect to the iphone ~~ because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000001)"

Need help

i try to restore on another computer now
HOwever all my previous data is gone (as it resides on my another PC)
But most importantly after i jailbreak i cant connect to the internet
even though i shows im connected to my wifi
Any idea?

problem solved after upgrade to latest Itunes 8.1

Q1. When firmware 3.1 or 3.1.1 is release, will the new apps incompatible with 3.0?

Q2. Once i upgraded to major/minor firmware (E.g: 3.1/3.1.1), it shall be back to unjailbreak device. Correct me if Im wrong.

Current firmware is 2.2.1 (ipod touch 2G)
Am i able to jailbreak using itunes 9?

Q1. If i jailbreak to 3.1.2 using blackrain, will it lost the jailbreak once i reboot?
