Actually I did everything you have mentioned. I just not work on my comp, running AntiVir and Zonealarm (which I disabled for JB work). I then used a comp at off which was an HP running WinXP SP3 with AVG8. I did all things similar but first I recover ori firmware then proceed try JB again. It works finally!!
 So thank you bryan, but I think you could put up in first page a series of trouble-shooting guide for QuickFreedom JB: 1) If fails more than 3 times, try recover ori firmware 2) If fail to recover custom firmware- try recreate custom firmware; 3) If very sure everything retried and no mistakes was made - try on another comp Pls advise those to perform JB to have a 2nd comp ready to try. If it won't work on this comp, it won't work no matter what u do. Even ori firmware recovery with itunes. Thanks again for everyone and cheers!! You can purchase mic at an apple store or you can use like one of the handphone's one. See if the jack fits. But I haven't tried that myself. Am really keen to get the mic cause of the Shazam app and also Skpe (:
