Cydia is for the iPod Touch mate. Once you've jailbroken your iPod Touch, a new application called Cydia would be added to your springboard. With it, you would be able to add repo's and download various tools and themes to make your iPod Touch even better than it already is.

Yup, the iPod Touch would be pretty useless without a wi-fi connection.

Well, most apps in the app store are iPod Touch/iPhone compatible, so it won't really be a problem. It's just some games which uses the mic and all, but other than that, it's cool.

i google around, found a lot of emulator for ipod story, juz want to clarify, is it legal or illegal to install those emulator like NES or GBA?

Emulators are totally legal, but file images like the .bios file and the roms( .nes, .gba , .gbc etc) aren't. I've got both those emulators as well. Mario on my iPod is lulz

Correct. It is just like jailbreaking, programs like quickfreedom and redtool are legal, but downloading patched ipsw created by those programs are illegal

ooh bryanyeo, i never knew that distributing patched .ipsw files was illegal. Is that the reason why patched ipsw's are not uploaded to hosting sites for users to download? I mean, there are some, but you get the point.

Yes, the program is not illegal, but the patched ipsw is illegal.

What program you use to jailbreak?

Quickfreedom. It said that unknown error 1604 something. I'm doing thrice and even turn off my zonealarm.

Now I even tried restore original firmware and JB again, still same error.
Another try to restore original also failing now. Hai... Pls help...

Did you do the pre-jailbreak step in quickfreedom?

Yup it was successful and gav white screen. I am trying to download the original Firmware again. Does the itunes version make any difference? I mean I have the newest version which was released just few days ago.

Somemore I also tried recover original firmware with itunes using its own server other than use the file I downloaded with Quickfreedom. It say server cannot connect/check your itunes version - but my itunes is newest available.

I then also tried uninstall itunes and getting older version itunes on www.filehippo.com , to recover but also failed.

I also tried uninstall, restart, reinstall, restart - also cannot recover.
I also tried using a new admin user account in my Windows XP SP3 to recover - also failed.

Man, this is so frustrating. I feel very regretful ever trying to JB my touch.

Did you boot into DFU before restoring ori firmware?
