I got 1 question to ask. Does every brand new sealed PS3 games come with the stripe / seal with "Playstation" written on it like this one?



The reason I asked is because I bought some games from one of the shop thread here, and the games are supposedly brand new. Some of the game come with the strip and some don't. I suspect the one that don't have the strip are used game that are resealed by the seller and was sold to me as brand new.

what is the shop name?

Bernard Yong from Gameon. So is this normal or every brand new game are supposed to come with that strip?

There 2 types seal for PS3 titles.

1 with the PLAYSTATION 3 strip at the bottom.
1 with no strip at the bottom.

However, you have to take note that the plastic wrapper are wrapped tightly(which can only be sealed by machines and not human hands). If not, that means they are opened, re-sealed and being sold again.

All R1 packaging has the PLAYSTATION 3 seal on the bottom, this is a must. SCEA policy, no way out of it.
R2(EU and Jap) and R3 sometimes doesn't have the PLAYSTATION 3 seal on them, but this instance is rather rare. Most games have it.

So, take note.

Only Konami game? I have bought > 10 games so far and IIRC, all of them have that stripe.

So confirm that the stripe is not available on all games?

2 of the game that I bought was R1, and it didn't have the Playstation seal / stripe.

There was a commotion behind the scenes back then when a few producers decided not to use the PLAYSTATION 3 seal because of royalty fees on their game packaging. Can't really remember what game it was though....

Konami games have the seal on them, I've sold alot of MGS4, PES and Silent Hill games and each of them had the seal on them. I'm sure of it.

bwetul. sometimes, if got sales, you can even find a title under $25 a pop. HAZE was around #35.. lol

But no sales, $99 pon ada for a R3 game

i noticed, when I bout my ps3.,..I cant hear any sounds, means the fan was so quiet. Onmly when I popped GTA4, the fan kicks in overdrive mode, a bit loud, maybe telling me to stop playing and have a life. Usually GTA4.Given by the intensity of it, I understand. But after the latest update, even MGS4 also will result in the fan going nuclear. I read a few forums, some of them had a theory where Sony added a lot of functions on the latest firmwares for PS3, this stresses the PS3 and forcing itself to be cool always. Anybody having the same issue as I am? Nothing serious but the sound really turns my gaming apetite off.

Rather than just more features taking a toll on XMB-SPU of the Cell, try opening up your PS3 and behold the amount of dust it has inside. Dust build ups just clogs the amount of trapped heat in the PS3. The fan is automated to run at full-speed when theres alot of bottlenecked heat on the bottom side of the console(which means where the Cell and RSX is.

I didn't experience any high speed fan in GTA4 or MGS4 playing in a fan room and in the afternoon after the new firmware updates. Although I do get my fan running at full speed when playing in an exceptionally hot afternoon though, where my room reaches a temp of 26c and above!

what's the combination to clean the ps3 again?
anyone know?

mine is probably filled with:
dust
cat fur
dog fur

but the fan doesnt come on ALL the time...
just when it's exceptionally hot.(usually 15 minutes into MGO it will come on-especially nowadays seeing how it's so freakin hot!)

i doubt i'm the only one here who thinks so,but the BRAVIA is ridiculously hot!
play for a few minutes and i start sweating in my own god damn room!

in comparison,i can play on my living room philips and not feel anything at all.
even after hours of play,the tv is relatively cool.

i think the problem with my situation is that;
1)im in my bedroom,where air ventilation is at a bare minimum(usually windows are shut even on the hottest day)
2)my table is quite small,and i have not much room-so my tv and ps3 are quite close together. add up the heat emanating from the PS3 AND the BRAVIA as well as my laptop,and you've got quite the sauna

Combination?
Uhm... the only sure-fire way to clean your PS3 thoroughly is open it up and clean it with an air-pressured can. If you are thinking that the full-fan speed trick cleans your PS3, think again. It does nothing.
