Well, the thing i do not like about GoogleMaps is because they need you to be connected to the internet in order to be able to use them. By any chance to configure it not needing a connection and act like the usual GPS software like Garmin/Mapking?

I can't identify any sattelites on my google map though. Very hard. And one more quest, do you guys on the HSPDA on your diamond? It drains my credit like water without me realising it.
Btw, my memory usage on idle is around 65%. Why is it so high i wanna ask? |

It drains my credit like water without me realising it. Well, i would normally switch it off if its not needed. It used to drain my credits like mad especially on 3G but i switch it off after that. I used a problem called Modaco NoData. Maybe you can try search and install it.Btw, my memory usage on idle is around 65%. Why is it so high i wanna ask? And yes, the memory usage is normal if you are on Original Firmware. They will start off at about 54% and will rise to roughly over 70% on the 3rd day without a soft reset. So, its recommended to actually soft reset once every couple of days. Its due to the memory leak issue, commonly known in the TD and probably other Windows Mobile devices. QUOTE(crimsonhead @ Aug 17 2009, 01:07 AM) wats the price for a new extended(the fat one) battery? Well, last time i believe it was about RM200+. Not sure about it now. Battery life for the TD was known from the beginning to be weak. I am getting about a day of usage as well, sometimes about 2 days max before it needs a recharge. i need to charge my phone everyday and its very annoying. 1 day battery kong already. is this normal? |

How do we access the HLKM file? I cant seem to find it in my phone? And is Win6.5 much better than 6.1? What is the procedure of flashing your device? Kinda new with PDA phone here. lol. Added on August 19, 2009, 2:08 amAnd guys, one more thing. How do we install the .NET compact framework on diamond? This post has been edited by csrulez: Aug 19 2009, 02:08 AM |

QUOTE(csrulez @ Aug 19 2009, 01:19 AM) Thanks alot for clarifying akachester. Accessing to HKLM or HLMK, if HKLM it is short form of Registry HKEY LOCAL MACHINE, in order to access that file you have to install registry editor to your device. How do we access the HLKM file? Added on August 19, 2009, 2:08 amAnd guys, one more thing. How do we install the .NET compact framework on diamond? Yes WM6.5 are better than WM6.1 but with TF3D V2 it temps to crunch too much memory but if with Titanium(WM6.5 CHome) or TF3D V1 the memory usage are OK. For Flashing your TD there 2 type of ways, 1. Flash from RUU Utility(Either from HTC or form XDA Dev.) through your PC USB to your TD 2. Flash from Internal Storage(Recommended safer way to flash) 3. If flashing Official ROM RUU Utility from HTC will be ok 4. If you are flashing a Custom Cooked ROM other then Official you have to flash your HardSPL to custom HardSPL 1st befor you can flash any Custom Cooked ROM to your TD. |

QUOTE(csrulez @ Aug 19 2009, 01:19 AM) Thanks alot for clarifying akachester. Well, as pointed out by Aavatar, you can do it in alot of ways. Try reading alot of them and understand the risk to do it first before actually doing it. This is one thread that i would read the first few important post really carefully. It gives you alot of understanding on how to do it step by step. I started from there as well How do we access the HLKM file? I cant seem to find it in my phone? And is Win6.5 much better than 6.1? What is the procedure of flashing your device? Kinda new with PDA phone here. lol. Added on August 19, 2009, 2:08 amAnd guys, one more thing. How do we install the .NET compact framework on diamond? In regards to WM6.5, i wouldn't say its VERY MUCH better than the WM6.1. There is improvement, especially in terms of battery life + memory usage. The memory usage is surprisingly good when i am using the WM6.5. Up to over a week of usage, i have barely gone over 54% usage as compared to the WM6.1. I would recommend you to give it a try first but as said by Aavatar, the TF3D2 on WM6.5 is memory hungry. Something like EnergyROM WM6.5 can idle at over 70% memory usage. So, its up to you whether you can tolerate with them or not though. In regards to the .NET compact framework, download it from the Microsoft Website. IIRC, it would be an EXE or MSI file that you can execute it directly from your PC. What you need to do is to connect your phone to the PC using USB via ActiveSYNC (in Windows XP) or the Windows Device Center (in Windows Vista), execute the EXE and it will be installed automatically to your phone. If its a CAB file, download it into your phone (transfer using USB) and execute directly from your phone. |

My diamond is already out of warranty and now have problem. major actually, there is a crack at the USB connection port where we normally put the cable for charging battery (the one with black colour). so not able to charge the PDA. but I'm lucky my wife have the same device so I can put my battery to be charged with her device.
Asked few phone repair shop, they have no spare part to replace. call SIS and they said they will charge RM80 for diagnostic for them to make a quote (refundable if we repair with them). labour fee will be RM 150 exclude the part cost. I'm not sure whether it worth to repair or better to find other phone. at the other side, I bought this PDA for RM 1600 only when the price of that time about RM 2400. looking for advice |
