so does your phone's battery take a huge hit when this happens?
*
It's normal to switch between 3G and H/H+, Celcom is using Fast Dormancy technology for their 3G network, and this technology is said to be able to save battery by switching to 3G when network is in idle mode.

Just sign rm80 Celcom Gold but i heard some1 complaining about Celcom auto roaming and been charge with data roam while he in singapore. According to him, he didn't turn on data roaming. Does it really happen?

Just want to share

If using Iphone, this can happen. Not sure which iOS but I think its the iOS9 and above. The feature is called Wifi assist. If Android than it shouldn't happen.

Here's a link Wifi Assist

Quoted from the website.
"The feature quietly swaps your iPhone from a wifi connection to mobile data, if the device judges that your 3G or 4G will be the speediest of the two connections. It's designed to stop endless load times when connected to a sluggish wifi hotspot or home network – but it can quickly burn through your mobile data, especially if you don't have an unlimited plan."

Also take a look at settings for each App. Some use mobile date in background.

Android has more control over roaming settings. I wished iOS can improve on this, better still if there is a separate permission for app's mobile data usage when roaming.

Yes they do with the First 1+5 plan whereby you can have 5 supplementary lines under the main line and all the numbers will enjoy free calls of up to 2,000 minutes and 2,000 SMSes with each other.

From my past experience, it will be prorated and they will send you a bill/statement.

That's the thing, even uMobile has ocs app, Celcom has none.
Guess we just have to live with SMS balance query till they develop the app.
