try to search for any application that uses internet like software update, and turn off the automatic update. ormaybe your clock set to "automatic time update"?

to check your directx version, goto "run" type "Dxdiag" and it will show ur version. i long time never play games liao, and you can always get the latest DirectX installer from microsoft website, there is no partial update you have to install the whole file.
if you want to find out what version of directx your graphic card support, you have to go to the website of the manufacturer.. else you can try GPU-Z http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

This phone is great but i think N82 is better ^^

actually n79 is not my first pick.. i got a few more phones i like.. but then. .no $$$

would rather have N96, or HTC Diamond 2.. but i still got praises for N79
nokia will never create the perfect phone for you and me.. if not.. no one will buy their N70, N71, Nxxx to N100 or whatever models they come out in the future...

I'm argee with u too, seen my 1st choice also not N79 actually
But i'm more prefer touch screen phone o PDA now...

Haha no point to change so frequent seen this N79 is enough for me too

hi,i'm a new owner of the n79.just got it last weekend,secondhand AP set from comsat

contrary what ppl think about think comparing to the n82,i think n79 rocks better.n82 has the advantage of the xenon flash whereas n79 has a better keypad to use(imo) which is more practical(u'd call and sms more often than using the xenon flash rite?).

both has approx the same price tag and so i chose this one so i wont suffer typing sms'es every single day just to have the xenon flash

of course,one can argue more about the pros and cons of both but it all comes down to ones preferences.mine is n79

so fast got 5.00.50 ald.. haha.. never update since i use the stock version 5. is there any difference? nowadays seldom use gps d.. coz not always travel.. haha..

Hi,i got tis 2nd hand coz a friend was letting it go 4a reasonable price of rm730 n he only used it 4 3mths.i've updated it 2the latest firmware n everyth seems 2b working great so far.the phone doesnt lag at all,juz some minor hiccups tat i've encountered.

Is there any lag while running this phone ? I own a 1st 3g Nokia 6680 , it lag when i try to take a few more picture..i wonder will it happen in N79?

Currently look at N79 , i wonder if i can install thsoe widget for 5580xm also ?

no lag at all, not even on the camera.
i'm running Handy Shell, Handy Taskman, push email, Garmin and inbox in the background without any problem.

however, it only lags when bluetooth is turned on

Guys....need some help...

It seem my N79 got problem....whenever I take picture, it wont store either in HP memory or External memory....already check all the setting but still cudnt find any abnormality....please help me
