I had brought my N79(Zitron) at 20/11/2008. I'm encounter some problem as follow:

1)build in memory being used up after a period of time using tht phone
2)after a period using it, inside the memory card comes up with many foreign folder n files tht.

I'm willing to get rid from those probs by format my phone n memory card,
but i'm afraid tht after format memory card,how can i get back the original files tht suppose be inside?

What i want is my phone back to origin...means no nid to download again n install for nokia map,N-gage somethings...

So anyone can pls guide me?

my firmware version update at nokia care centre n i think didn't found any bugs right now n will not hang o lag when using d phone. Ver 11.049. So will d internal phone memory been used when i download n install d apps from "download" eg.messenger, quickoffice something. If i download d theme, where should i paste d installer? Because what i experience is i had installe d theme but i can't delete it inside d apps manager! Then many graphic files appear inside my photo gallery. Pls teach me:)

i'm a new user on symbian phone. So i has some question to ask.

1)where should i paste d installer after i download my theme?
2)how to delete d theme after i had installed it? As i couldn't delete it in apps manager.
3)If i brought a new micro SD 8GB, what i need to do so that i can use it as usual?
4)whr can i download "Dictionary"(that original came with nokia phone,seen i had format my memory card n phone)?
5)My frenz r using "talking dictionary" but i dunno where to get d apps, anyone kmcan tell of where to download it?

i'm using N79 now, friendly speaking i didn't feel any hang o photo sharen problem(must wait a few sec for 1st time view the photo). After d firmware update,it's smooth(if u had successfull update without any interruption o disturb.) on this time, many software been updated to overcome most problem,seen this model is quite new. Navi-wheel working well,seen it's same as u moving d cursor in note book pad(in phone u just move around d navi-wheel to have a fast scroll up n down.) this function is usefull when u r searching messy songs in ur gallery.

Did u r not using N79? Coz i saw u written "click right to view files in d memory card" but inside my phone whn i go into file manager, i ald can choose either go to phone memory o memory card. ( what i saw in my bro N82 is can see all d .sis files tht had been pasted )

Izzit zedge.com o symbian-freak.com provided free software is safe to use?
Can anyone recommend me whr can i get free theme too?

If u r zitron set, i would advise u go to nearest nokia care centre let them help u to do d update,seen they will confirm that d firmware update won't be interrupted.

If u r updating d firmware in nokia care centre,they will return to u d memory card inside. So the update will not mess up ur files. Enjoy ur update ya! tongue.gif

1) i had tried, it's around 2-3sec will be done to capture a moveable object.

2) u can on it, if u wish not to paid, then go to Tools-Setting-Positioning-Positioning Method-Network based(disabled it) then gps connection is free to use!

3) in my opinion, i advise u to convert the files to mp4 so that it's smooth when play.

sorry, bcoz i dunno exist of the "h@@king" word will have so much effect. Do i need to use "unlocked" insense of using "h@@king" be more suitable?

I has some Question:
1)if i go to download apps in zedge.com o other web site, will the apps need us to install other things 1st before install d apps? Eg. I go to install theme in zedge.com,require me to install ownskin o animator 4 1st before success install in that theme.

2)got any useful o cool apps can introduce to us?

Anyone can give me a solution in my post#605 ? (Thx for all attention)

I saw my frenz N85 n my bro N82, their hp will show the date n time after set "power saver" in "now playing", but why i on it also do not has anything show?

If the internal memory been used up (seen some installation must consume internal memory), will any problem occur?

Anyone pls help,
My N79 let the person whr i brought it to format, but then i heard them say don have N79 model in their shop n i'm request for formating memory card too.

The person had done for the format, but as i saw d process n i search inside d file manager, i found they jz simply put in N82 things into it. Then i was argue with that person but he say "tis is d ori folder tht came along with tis hp".
(He didn't help me do it as wat he should but still want to lie me. So I'm was vry angry n leave d shop.) Now i'm decided bring my hp to NCC to do whole inspection in software o do a whole format n restore all to ori.

Bcoz what i know is after whole format, my contact should be gone.
But now the contact list is BLANK but still whn ppl calling also shown their name like before.

Any of you got tis experience?
Can pls tell me will tis person act corrupt my N79?

5. But take note, make sure that you already backup all your settings and files because when we are talking about upgrading firmware, we are actually will format the phone. So make sure you have already done the backup.

6. Then, follow the instructions and Nokia Software Updater will download the latest firmware version and will install it to your phone once it is finished.

7. While the phone is being upgraded, you will see that the phone display goes to blank. It is normal. Don’t feel scared or shocked.

8. If everything is fine, your phone will be rebooted and you will see Nokia logo at the splash screen. But if something goes wrong, don’t worry, just go back to step 1.

IF IT SAYS THAT your firmware is already the latest, disregard that. REINSTALL the update again.

Yes you are right. Now after i deleted all contact tht save in sim card,no more contact name shown in hp.
1) my current firmware is 11.049 (got any latest update for it?)
2) if i do the format my self, izzit pressing *+green+3+power ??? for device only
3) if i do the format in memory card, after formatting, hw can i install map and N-gage?
4) after i done those format in device and memory cad, anything else i need to take note o install ???

Finally i brought a rubber casing & screen protector for my lovely N79...but the total price is RM33, quiet expensive.

I don't think that got pre-installed MSN messenger in N79...
But if u use it and d messenger show u an error occur, mostly is d version of messenger not adapt the phone.

Anyway, u can try to use messenger that provided by nokia :
1) click into "Download"
2) load d list / catalogue (better used in wifi area)
3) look for MSN messenger o u can try "Fring"

i was found out that some usefull specific N79 care for ver. 11.049

Pls "switch-off" ur phone at least 1 time per day...

I had just try not to swtich off phone for a few days, but then will easily get some probs like hang whn unlock keypad & hang during loading web pages.

Hopefully tis will be helpfull tip for all ^^
