RM400 for 1 set rollcage? Cheap wo. Im thinking of sourcing a halfcage for my ride. Since the rear part is weak because of the 3 piece glass.

Wah who qouted RM200 for roombar + fenderbar? For my ride got or not?

Pre-facelift for each generation - 2 years.
Facelifted - 2 years or maybe less, depends on demand.

The shortest time for facelifted model is still Accord 7th gen - 1 1/2 year.

The reason they didn't change much is because this generation is successful, hence they remain the same till next generation.

of course i never want my mechanic to go through such pressure by knowing the chances of not getting job done properly.

the problem here is...i sent my car to one of the honda service center to do my 20k servicing. they got it done everything in less than 30mins.
and i would't know did they chAnge the essential parts and inspections properly

and the brand manager claimed that 30mins is normal...he himself can get everything done in 20mins.

i am so surprise and seriously doubt the capability lor.

they said the inspections are normal inspections. can be done in 5 mins. but i found out my steering is a bit heavy and tire pressure seem to be not balance . at the end i had to go and do it again by myself. that is when i think they didn't do things properly.

pls tell me....thxx

Satria gti is proton. Parents dont really support if i buy a proton car cause my parents got bad past with proton cars. Honda civic ek 4 convert to ek9 with red recaro seats are damn tempting . But on the other hand honda civic ek4 are year 96 and satria gti is year 2001.That's 5 years difference for god's sake ! I've done alot research bout 2 cars now i just have to make up my mind biggrin.gif

FYI guys, I think the facelift model of Civic going to launch soon.
today i saw 2 civic, 1 black 1 silver on a trailer parking beside Jaya One in front of the TAR College
both had their front and back completely covered with white cloth/plastic.
what makes me think that it's the facelift is because their rims are different from the current outgoing 1.8 and 2.0 model. the rims resemble those of mitsubishi lancer GT with many spokes. i quite like the rims.
didn't manage to snap picture, coz drove by it and and after seeing it awhile when cruising by, only I think it could be the facelifted civic.

Yes it will be launch in March and available in April.....i already book mine.... nothing major change only exterior not mistaken, the saleman told me that they also not sure yet the price will remain or go up slightly....

The changes what the salemans told me is...
1. Bumper (i think it almost the same as Type R bumper)
2. Fog lamp
3. Grille
4. Headlamp change to smoked
5. taillamp change from round to hexangon type.

those like Sprint Booster or Pivot 3 Drive is use to trick the throttle body to open faster

it only use for DBW (Driven By Wire) throttle body

it does not increase horse power or torque to the car

it just a imagination to the driver that it actually increases the power of the car whereby that is only an imagination laugh.gif

Yup... I went to Honda today from morning to afternoon, my SA and the branch manager told me that. And they stopped production prior for Civic Facelift official on Malaysia, March 18. There is one Alabaster Silver Metallic in the showroom I went for, its 2.0 version.

And the Civic Hybrid is ready for order... And this time Civic Facelift they will take 2.0 as test drive car instead of 1.8 like last time.

Thank you for your advise. I am not too sure yet because I need to do research on the price. I am getting it in Kota Kinabalu.

I will get the re-con version. Somemore it is cheaper and also it might come with additional accessories. Anyone that have one civic type R - 4 door version plz share with us the feeling of driving it and any further modification

30 is abit too light bro...indeed engine will feel damn responsive. Alot of my pals when using 50 below, when they open the rocker cover there is sludge buildup. Rempit pals la haha. Under normal driving conditions, I think still ok smile.gif

sport clutch for daily usage is quite a b*tch sweat.gif

wat i did was opt for trinit clutch and use back stock honda housing.

so the clutch pedal is soft plus i still have some bite.

penzoil really for the loaded only tongue.gif

i wanted to test penzoil; the gold grade wan; den i saw the wrong pricetag. lucky i take the laser scanning machine to check; zomg; it ended up like 250++

Added on March 20, 2009, 6:35 pmoh yea; plus if u use sport clutch in the jams ah; ur clutch gets worn pretty much more easier; due to the balancing.

even if u try not to ; u;ll still end up doing it once awhile.

my best combo now is triniti clutch + stock honda housing haha

My mech find it for me.. he said condition is 90%.. have to bring all the way from penang.

After this I will go for normal/semi racing clutch hehe.

In term of difficulty to drive.. twin plate is not too hard once you get used to it. but yes you will always to be careful when releasing the clutch from stop.. if not.. mati enjin loo hehe

just watched the video of new civic

I'm quite impressed by v-tec and honda technology and they have 3 key selling point to kick those mivec,focus,308,slyphy,camry out of the league
1) 2.0L - 155bhp ( not normal )
2) semi auto 5 SPEED !!!!
3) superd advance safety and brake system

forget about the type-r (more 70k).. get a 2.0 and mod it is a good choice. but mugen type- rr is diff story tongue.gif

Can mod to beat Type R? How to overcome the chassis rigidity difference?

Ive personally seen many modded FD2's on Sepang, and non come close to an ori Type R.

type-r doesnt simply put the logo onto a normal civic and rename it to type-r.. the only thing u can do is mod the exterior look like a type-r only

my fren's fren hav a type-r and only tweaked abit.. on highway he drove 260 and my fren told me the car is still very stable no shaky feelings

What so not normal about 155ps? Its little lar. 5-speed auto? The 5th gear barely makes ur car move on highway. What so advance about the safety? It exist in the merc since the 90s. And honda's brakes? pffftt....... the worse brake ever u can find.

What do u mean forget about type R that cost 70k more? Have you sit and drive 1? brainless post. doh.gif

Lol.. Golf GTI?... Yea, may be good enough, but not enough to beat Type R as I saw before... (correct if wrong), my bro's friend's dad branch manager of VW, so I tested it too. My bro always rempit with that Golf GTI with his SGTI, Golf win on straight, but corner loses too much.

I only tried Type R once... = =... No chance...

About normal Civic... It is quite enough for normal driving la, but then for Gouki FD2Roy, haha... Special...

QUOTE
THREE cars of the same model were stolen around the same time in the wee hours of March 25 in Taman Sri Rampai, Wangsa Maju.

Two of the victims had parked their cars — a Honda Civic — in the porch and they did not even hear the thieves breaking in.

One of the victims, who only wanted to be known as Victor, felt the blow as he had only bought his car less than three weeks ago. It cost him RM128,000.

“My car, a silver Honda Civic, was parked in the car porch and the gate was locked. We only noticed that the car was stolen when my wife was about to go jogging at about 6am,” he said at a press conference in the Setiawangsa MCA headquarters.

Setiawangsa division MCA Public Complaints Bureau chief Kent Ho, who himself is one of the victims, had captured the entire process on the CCTV camera.

“From the CCTV, we could see the suspects’ faces. It was a two-man team, both in their 20s to 30s, dressed in similar casual clothes and they did not even cover their faces or wear caps or sunglasses.

“They drove a car similar to mine and carried bags, which we suspect contains a device they used to detect the car’s immobiliser.

“It took them less than 18 minutes to drive off in my car.

“They seemed like experienced thieves because they were able to detect the car’s mother board and cut off the alarm within five seconds and know exactly where the houses of the Honda Civic were situated.

“My mechanic told me that with the car’s technology, it is impossible for anyone to drive off without the designated car key.

“There were very careful and quiet. I was still awake at the time of the theft, which took place is from 2.45am to 3.03am, but I did not hear a sound,” he said, adding that he will post a copy of the recordings online to warn the public about the thefts.

He hoped that the police would be on the look out for the thieves who might smuggle the cars out in containers.

“The police also told me that I was not the first victim that night,” said Ho.

He called a Honda centre and the reply he got was that they were not aware of it and that Honda’s devices could not be brought out from its premises.

Ho said he would report the incident to both Honda Malaysia and Honda Japan.

“We want an explanation because how can such an advance immobiliser be foiled?” asked Ho.

He added that he would write a letter to the Sentul and Bukit Aman police to inform them that the crime rate in Taman Sri Rampai had escalated.

i've booked a 2.0 FL too, but the car was said to be delayed, having to wait until middle of April

btw, the bank loan I got is 2.32% from Public Bank.

Law, can you confirm again on the 'price drop' news from your SA? By how much and why would a new FL drop price??

Ah, very observant.

Try telling that to all the FD 2.0 ivtecs out there that try to imagine that they are in a CTR.

Remember people, just because it looks like a CTR, may even sound like a CTR, it is NOT a CTR.

Just ranting here cos I just got cut off by 2 Civics today that were obviously underpowered but still attempted to cut into my lane.

So if tomorrow a Honda City (for example) attempts to cut into your lane, u gonna rant and complain at the Honda City Club thread and remind them their car is a City not a Mugen City?

Come on, stop complaining. It's useless. It's unwanted.

why bother?.. if they wanna cut in then just let them.. they wanna drive dangerously then let them.. they wanna die early then let them.. also what does underpower got to do with cutting into ur lane?.. if ur on the outter lane and moving fast and people cut into ur lane just flash to let them know that ur going fast..

Driving licence has only one number. Begins with alphabet, and followed by 6 numbers at the back of your driving licence.

btw, anyone here already booked the new FL? When's the expected date to get the car?

I just called honda Msia, and they said mine is 2nd or 3rd week of April, which is much later than what SA has promised

What a freaking bigot!

And to be honest, I'd rather be ignored by hare brained people like you than to waste time entertaining your fascism and bigotry.

The next time someone cuts into your lane, you'd better be the first to tell the world how great that felt.

Sorry, I have a question. I'm gonna leave my civic at home for 2 months. Is that ok ?
Will the engine & battery be ok if untouched for 2 months ?
Or must it be driven once a while ?
X.X if not I have to teach mom how to drive my car ~~

Indeed. Sometimes i wished i was on softer suspension to absorb the frequent and sometimes violent undulations on the highways. More comfy that way.

every friday evening without fail...
about 6 pm +-...

open your ears and listen to the sound of RSR...
thats the direction of ulu yam...

u need to be quick to follow the direction or else 5 mins later you wont hear anything anymore and you have to wait until the next friday or if u are lucky, the driver of the ghost RRR has itchy balls and want to go up genting later on the same night after which u will be able to spot hear it again

tecque has answered about the B18C...but just to add... the non-type R B18C is usually referred to as "GSR"

B16A - 1.6 DOHC VTEC... 160HP & 170HP (yes, theres 2 versions...actually theres 3 tongue.gif)
B16B - 1.6 DOHC VTEC Type R (EK9)
B16C - doesnt exist...at least not from factory.

for B16A...

160HP
- JDM 1st Gen B16A aka Small VTEC...found in EF and DA chassis...clutch cable
- USDM 2nd Gen B16A...i think UKDM oso 160HP...forgot liao.

170HP
- JDM 2nd Gen B16A aka Big VTEC. clutch pump found in EG chassis and above

if im not mistaken, non-JDM B16As are 160HP...correct me if im wrong

EDIT: theres also a 170HP B16A with clutch cable....only available in the 92 Integra DA6.....very rare....

After going through youtube video clips on how vtec works and how it sounds like , now I know why everyone recommends to take Manual.

The roars from the Vtec definitely can get orgasm. wub.gif

the brake light thingy, i would guess a reputable accesories shop should be able to handle...should be a simple case of tapping the wires...

You see the cam cover on the engine. If the VTEC word is bigger than the DOHC, then its big vtec. Opposite size its small vtec.

But this can be fooled since the cam cover can be changed. Unless you open up and measure the cams. tongue.gif

yup; here's an example of the cover;
BIGGER VTEC smaller dohc = BIG VTEC

for the big vtec; when it switches; its note is louder den the smaller vtec.

there's almost 10hp difference between the 2.

Hi Felice.
i now still negotiating the civic 1.8 06 with my fren
he selling me at 88k!but i bargain till 86k!
brown silver color with very good condition, bodykit, new types.
but one down site is the car mileage currently clock at 75k.
i not sure the mileage is it the problem.
becoz base on my experience even the mileage is high, provided take care the car very well than should not a problem.
since you said the car is aug 2006 that mean if you buy now you still have 3 month warranty since honda give 3 yrs warranty.
b4 you drive just follow the seller go to any honda service center to check the car.
honda will give free checking on the car c whether have problem or not.if yes those part under warrantly can straight away change it if u fill up the complaint form.
they will change it for you if still under warranty.

Oh...coz my budget is 80k to 90k only...so is it can get 07' car?06' i think not so worth for it...
and the mileage only 20k++...if that is 07' car and it's condition with interior and exterior all perfect and good, i will take it immediatelly.

but like this brother said...we can go to honda service centre to check it where got problem thn change for us...it's very WORTH!! thumbup.gif

Hi!
But bear in mind that!
the mileage can change so becareful.
even is digital mileage it still can reset to lower mileage in less than 15 minute.
so becareful.
always check the service book, resit & last service mileage.
if the 2nd hand car dealer not providing any service book for you to check.
u better dont take the car eventhough the mileage is good.
give you example:
i have been to the 2nd hand dealer to look for the car.
then i saw the car i like ,then the SA said this car very well take care.
i straight away ask 1 question?did the car have service book or not?
the SA said dont know put where & alot excuse!
i said to him if the car owner very well take care a car, dont tell me a service book the owner cant keep??logic?
so play smart the 2nd hand dealer.
they like to con people.

just got my civic last saturday.

everything is great except the radio function which cannot even support the RDS (radio text, i.e. showing MixFM when tuned to 94.5) and auto tuning. When reading the manual, I found that mine (and most probably Msia batch civics 2.0) is installed with "Type-D" player, which has FM, AM and CD/Aux buttons compared to "Type-C" which has FM/AM (combined into 1 button), CD/Aux and TP(not sure whats that) but fully supports RDS and Auto tuning.

Anyone here got the Type-C one? Easy to distinguish: Type-D has FM and AM button separately, but Type-C one has FM/AM combined into the first button.

Tried to call Honda Malaysia but they asked me to call the SC instead (too bad my SC is closed for this weekend)

well.. not too light until u strip the weight 500kg la sweat.gif

normally there's a wing (downforce) to keep ur car down ma sweat.gif

plus; most EF; EG; EK are stripped to the bones; the chassis; door; bumper; hood all swap with lighter material if not punched holes all over sweat.gif

i dont see them flying @ sepang laugh.gif
