Check the number stamped on the engine block...if dohc vtec usually starts with b16/b18....take a pic of the numbers on the block and the pic of the engine itself, then we can help identify

From the pic, it looks like a single cam vtec, but wat halfcut is this from...

Big and small vtec is usually reserved for the b16a series engine...but this is definitely not B-series

Engine condition difficult to tell from exterior...ask the boss to start the halfcut b4 buying

The foglights better leave it yellow...during thick fogs, white colour wouldn't be very helpful to help u see through...

civic...
what about this very rare to see in malaysia civic type r??

sorry for the blur image.. LOL
*
The FN2 is really nice, except that it uses a torsion beam rear suspension and the engine has been tuned with a lower compression ratio to meet euro's emission standards....

I wonder when will Naza bring this in

do you have any specific ecu in mind?(obd1/obd2/obd2b)
i'll have a lookout since im scouting for obd1 myself for my EG

unless theres a kind soul who can borrow me his/her ecu for a day to troubleshoot my car
*

you are right
called mun lee, no stock.
i doubt i can find anything in usj ;__;

i need another working ECU to pintpoint whether my car is having ECU problem itself, or theres short circuit wire causing the ECU not functioning/giving out error code
*
sorry bro, called my halfcut supplier in menglembu ipoh and he said no stock...im also shocked that he said p30 is easier to find than the local p27 ecu....

have u tried kampung melayu subang or consider rechipping the p30 to suit ur current engine parameters

bro...how bout this thread on mudah:

its giving out an error code? have u checked online wat that code means?

im not sure about ur model...but with the B16A EGs n above theres a way to short the wires (which i forgot exactly which wires) to get the error code to display on ur dash....

ur check engine light will be blinking the error code.
*
This is for my p72 OBD2 ecu but i think the methods would be similar for the p30 OBD ecu too. There are two sockets which leads to the ecu....remove the piece of rubber covering the wire sockets and u will find that there is one with 3 pins and one with 2 pins....simply get a piece of wire, plug the 2 ends into the socket with 2 pins...then turn ur key to on but do not start the engine.....u will find that the check engine lights will be blinking with long and short blinks.

To read the what error codes mean, pls google up coz there are too many to paste here.

Sorry to interupt on the ECU issue for a bit. FoxAss, confirmed Vios less bumpier than Civic? If that's the case, when the car passes through those yellow lines, the whole civic is like ding donging with passengers trembling in the cabin!????? <-- sounds exaggerated, hehe, but Vios isn't a car with good suspension.
*
The vios is using a torsion beam while the civic is running on a double wishbone setup...technologically speaking, the double wishbone is miles ahead on comfort compared to the reliable bout old-tech torsion beam.

But then, many other factors affect bumpiness, such as tire profiles, absorber and spring settings....if u don't want the civic to be bumpy, then go trade the tires for something thicker with a smaller rim size

No, the ABS wont help in cornering, it only helps during emergency braking. A properly done up FD2 can definately give your B16A EG9 a hard time in cornering, due to 1 main reason, the EG chassis is too old to hold up against the very rigid FD2 chassis. Speaking of uphill power, yes the K20Z2 has more torque to compensate the less peak power compare to a higher revving B16a. Even my FD2 can stay close behind a B16A with intake and exhaust mods. But B16A with intake and exhaust and ECU mods like moon's EK, then its bit hard to keep up on hill climb, especially after the steep slopes near the pagoda temple. smile.gif
*
I would say if the car has a shorter wheelbase and lighter body like the EG6, then it would be a fair fight uphill with a stock FD2....ultimately, the EG is more of a downhill machine unless it is equipped with a 1.8/2.0 litre engine

From the pictures and listings, if i'd were to rank it, the DB8 has the best value for money, then the EK and lastly the EG....depends on your taste actually, plus the DB8 is a four door car
