why argue? is your hdd still under warranty? if yes, dont need to argue, just tell them your hdd faulty and cannot detect. they will simply RMA it for you without a penny. RMA period would be around 1 or 2 weeks500gb ST3500320AS, made in china,

if its not under warranty, then i dont think there is anything you can do. unless you wanna recover your data which i dont think will be cheap
