hmmm basically what RAM does the new macbook pros originally use? everyone here seems unsure of what kind of RAM they should purchase..

its an oem ram cant be purchased anywhere else,its called Hynix aka Hyundai corporation Korea. You can find OWC or crucial ram,but its a bit more pricey but with shipping its under RM300, i dont recommend KVR cause it seems the quality is dropping these days, can also use KTA but there are expensive too. Mushkin is not bad too,but who sell these? last time saw was one of the shops in Lowyat.

so basically the only way i can get the OEM RAM is by purchasing (upgrading) from the apple store?

And you mentioned "Mushkin is not bad too", how exactly do you judge that?

That is true,but crucial has the same specs as the apple oem memory they use the same chips which is micron,can only get it in ebay tho.

i wouldnt be recommending them if i never tried em would i? They have the EB series which is meant for mac, the CL is about 5 if not mistaken,no trouble or issue after almost a year and a half of usage on my MB white.

i said ready it oem where can buy one,get crucial almost similar. Machines sell of RM399 per piece of 2Gb stick

Wow... No one ever upgraded their RAM from any Apple Authorized Reseller? Didn't know Apple 'makan' profit so dangerously. Found this thread when i was thinking of upgrading my RAM to 4GB... The ridiculous price made me wanting to change my mind immediately...

they are talking about the new ones, with DDR3 ram. Yours is a late 2006 model max is 3Gb only DDR2
