QUOTE(booby @ Feb 21 2009, 07:32 PM) Is student ID sufficient for me to enter casino? QUOTE(KVReninem @ Feb 21 2009, 09:31 PM) no dude; jst bring ur ic. sometimes IC is rejected. only the really pro guys at the door recognize malaysian IC. the best choice is to bring your passport or get the keypass. usually when my IC gets rejected i go look for the other door and try again hahaha.

It is better to get another form of photo ID. Why go to all the trouble of going to the place then find that you get rejected??? Malaysian IC is not always accepted. I am not sure what the card is in other states but in Qld there is an 18+ card from Qld Transport that solves everything.
Also, about driving licenses, it is better to just carry an english translation. The policemen won't know what the information on your license shows and they might not accept your explanation if they had a bad day.

Anyone of you think that I should get a car now ? A used car of course . I'm in Year 11 now as I don't really need a car to school . But sometimes on weekends and holidays , I tend to go out to the city and stuffs to buy stuffs and hang out . ( I'm living in Perth )
My bro and my sister in law both work and wants to rest on the weekends ( I can't really go out and have trouble going back home if I went out ) . The trains and the bus time is not flexible during the weekends .
How do you guys think ?
Mostly for personal stuffs

if you can pay for a car then why not. i found it very useful to have a car. especially when spending time at the poolhall. friends dont wanna send you home all the time hahaha.
but its expensive to have a car. keep that in mind. if you do. make sure you test out the car thoroughly, there are a lot of lemons out there. insurance, servicing, parts replacement like tires, petrol, and all that. you should get a car only if you can pay for it.

I can afford for a car as my parents said that they will get one for me . But whether I get it now or next year when I go to TAFE . My monthly income is around $200 . Estimated 1 month of usage ( Go to school by bus , food and stuff ) Around 75-90dollar . Left $110 dollar and stuffs for oils . Should get a car which is very well maintained . Probably will just use it once in a while ( Weekends ) . Definitely not on weekdays . This post has been edited by Thalmes: Feb 22 2009, 11:39 AM

AUD$110 extra. hmmm. see the problem with a car is that you start with weekends and then later on it goes to...supermarket visits....quick runs to the shop.... and so on and so forth hahahaha. other than considering pertrol you need to think about paying for parking too. those will be the biggest dents in your wallet.

Just factoring in your services and rego will kill you......service once a year $200-300.....rego for 1 year is about $600
So per month is $60-70 which leaves you $40-50 a month

Depending on what you want you'd probably be looking at a 4-5 year old small car.....check out places like carsales
I'd say big cars are cheaper to buy but more expensive for petrol and maintenance........small cars more expensive to buy but cheaper petrol and maintenance

As far as I know ... I need to translate my license into English , take theory test and practical test . But I don't know whether am I still eligible to do that as they said it's 3 month after I grant my visa ... Or 3 month after I come to Perth . That's the confusing part . I don't think I need to attend the seminar thing do I ?
