Back from outstation trip for CNY, drive my PMM City all the way. It's already 1k and ready for its first service.

A few things I found after driving the car:
1. I only get around 11km/L in avg, maybe the engine is still new.

2. My trip was bumpy ride, and I feel the car is bumpy when I drive over 90km/hr. Get choked if you drink in the car. Perhaps due to the 16" rims and tyre.

3. Rear bumper 'slipped' down. I can see it's not intacted tightly now. I found this after reaching destination. Will need to ask my SA when I send it back for service.

4. Alarm will not sound if rear boot is opened.

5. The alarm sound is so wheeny, a baby's cry is even louder.

6. The air con is not fast cooling, my old wira is better. 3rd speed is so loud. Try to turn to fan speed 3, then turn on both leg and front cooling, it sounds like you got a hole somewhere in the pipe. Wira air con is much better in control.

7. During overtaking, good response in change of gear, but engine sound quite noisy...paddle shift is good in control.

If you have the same experience, please share as well.

I dun what you call in english .. you called that front skirting, right? With the HONDA [H] in the front.
So must wait for months? Those accessories shop selling this skirting is original or immitation one..? what material is that? chrome? or just plastic with shiny chrome.. blush.gif sorry ya, i'm a lady. so not quite familiar with car's accessories language ..  biggrin.gif like skirting, bumper.. griille .. somemore.
*
The H is grille. Front skirting is the front part below the front bumper.
Some sell original, some sell replica. Some made of plastic, others made of fibre.
You can easily spot the material by looking at the back material.

1. Remember to take good care of your engine. Do not TEKAN or force.
2. When I got my CR-V, running 110km/h will make my steering wheel vibrate. But after 5000km mileage, everything is alright.
3. This is maybe due to the bumper is not hang on the bracket.
4. Yes, as usual.
5. Alarm differs from cars to cars, but standard Honda alarm is like that.
6. Err, no comments.
7. Err, no comments.

Wow. Will take note of all these things when I drive my car more often.
Hopefully when you send for the 1st service, they can rectify it. I think the rear bumper 'dropped down' is quite alarming. i hope it is just a exception there. in relation to the alarm, andy did say the boot would not sound when you open it with your key (original) key cos it has some chip in it. if you open with an unauthorised key, the alarm will ring. finally, i think the Proton aircons (Denso) are one of the best in the market..hehe! maybe cos it pollutes the air more..eheh!

oh yeah, i need to check about the 'noisy' engine cos i find mine is also. hopefully it's just the 'run in' period that i need to go thru

btw..how's ur PPS? Still gleaming new? smile.gif

1. How fast were you travelling? 140km/hr? The faster you go, the worse your FC.
4. Do you mean when you open the boot once the alarm is armed?
6. Don't quite understand your hole in a pipe statement. Anyway, when your air-cond is turned up high then it's expected to be loud. According to their research, most people don't care so much about the sound of the air-cond at high speeds as long as it cools down the car quickly.

1. I was travelling arnd 100km/hr. Mostly city drive and recently outstation on highway for abt 400km.
4. Yes
6. Try this out:
- Set fan mode to both leg and front
- Switch between fan speed 1, 2 and 3. The sound of the aircon turn much ugly when fan speed 3. Cant feel any air coming out at fan speed 3 on that mode.

New Honda alarm WILL NOT sound if you:
1. Open your car doors using keys.
2. Open your car boot with keys.

Solution to know how your alarm sounds like:
Sit inside your car, activate alarm, and start some movement. It should trigger after that.

he offer rm1k for tinting (to blacken the car mirror using spray type???)
2400 for leather seats

what u guys think?
*
spray type??? can provide more info on this??

hey guys, i need to do a urgent decision within this few days on tinting my new babe,
please give some summary on your info. thanks

what i got here now is 2 offer,
1, ECOTINT (been told is korea paper by other accessories shop but SA told me is US paper)- Hybrid 6 with raybarrier in front and rear. means 6 mil thickness security film (i am not sure but he got show me the sample, he said sure will give that one and not like show this and give that) Warranty 8 years, Visible light reflected - 10%, ultraviolet rejection - 99.5%, infrared rejection - 90%, Total solar heat rejection is 56%
[RM1.5k after all discount]

2. Powercool (not sure what paper but been told is US paper), 4mil thickness ( The accessories boss very keen to say ECOTINT 6 mil maybe not 6mil, because the shop owner said 6mil cannot fit the window, even 4mil already very hard to fit.) how many % rejection i got no idea as they do not provide sample, but the shop owner is one of my friend.
[RM1k]

if you got other suggestion, please help me...... thanks

I'd go for higher IRR with 4mil. I felt hot during the CNY even the IRR is above 80%. Check the IRR carefully before you decide.

Bumpy - Yes, but i will go to tyre shop to check whether they pump too much air into it.
Engine quite noisy.
Without CVT, gear changing not smooth. (Need to change my driving method because it is so much different from accord.)

Hi guys, i noticed that some of u commented on the engine noise. Is it really that noisy or the car damping material is not good enough?

I read somewhere that Civic also has similar problems.

True?

I've only driven Altis and Camry and it's quite silent but i'm very tempted with the City and Civic tongue.gif

I don't believe what the SAs say when they quote that they know about the tinting. My suggestion? Read up the internet and find out the facts from the fiction.

But in terms of the security film thickness, i think 4mm is more than sufficient. because if you take 6mm, there is a tendency that it will be a little taxing for your power windows motor cos there will be alot of abrasion. furthermore, the thicker the film.. you might get the film touching the side of the door. then u might just scratch the film.. not advisable either

6mil security film is working fine & I don't see any problem after 2 weeks using it. According to the tint shop, >6mil above i.e. 8mil will be considered too thick for the car windows.

As long as there is sufficient "gap" between the window and the side of the window/door thinggie..then it's fine. But do take note if you notice that the window is rubbing against the sides. then you might want to rectify it. one of my friends told me about that, cos he's using a conti car and the gap is really small.. cant remember what material is that..

I experienced below:

-Engine sound seems quiet to me. Whenever you driving up to a narrow hill or even speeding in any car, engine

sure sounds bad smile.gif

-NHC is a bumpy car, perhaps is an disadvantage but this car is good and stable when your make sharp corner

compare to Vios which is not bumpy and doesn't seems as stable as NHC. Need to check with SA and technician

about this, as bumpy make too much uncomfort feel!!!

-NHC air condition doesn't cool up the car faster, will complain to my SA about this.

-NHC wiper washer nozzles which shoot out soap for front windscreen, it is sharp! BECAREFUL whenever you

washing your car, I cut my thumb finger while washing this car. Again complain to SA.

-Fuel consupmtion: So far the most is 14.9km/l average! Is this good? How far can you car go with full tank?

So far 400KM and highest speed is 110km/l as I use to go in NKVE for a full tank pump max range. Should we

wait till 5000KM or second service which it may have better FC? Will make some complains for my first service

as even they said is it just checking and not changing anything. Vios E specs is 110KG ligther than NHC E spec

sad.gif where does this weight come from?

-The sound system is nice & sharp. Just sit and enjoy the audio system while driving :-))

- Tinting: I am using V-Kool Elite. Doesn't seems promising as the heat from the Sun still feel hot. 98% UVR &

94% IRR??? How come it still feel hot? I experienced bad customer service and technician expertise is not as

good as I expected when they setup this film. Even after I asked them to redo all windows, I found dust or

sand which stuck in the tinting, wonder is this normal as they told me that in any tinting is 90% dust free

(The best they can do??) and they said their V-Kool film is much more ticker compare to others so it is

difficult to ensure 100% dust free? After they redo for all window, I was happy until the next day when I wash

my car I found the main windscreen at front still have bubble and soap spot in it!!! so Piss OFF! X(

ARrrgghhhh....!!! I will get back to them to redo for me again!

-Tyre pricing for NHC 16" which is using Good Year. Hmm, still can't get it market, as I ask few tyre shop,

and they told me that this model is specially manufacture for NHC and the price is RM200++. Wonder anyone have

more idea about this?

-Alarm, really low sound. I hardly can hear it when I was sitting in my house or in a car with engine started.

Why dun they include the honk + alarm which is same as Vios? I have checked with SA and technician, and they

confirmed that no adjustment can be done on this car alarm? Anyone have any idea on this? No alarm sound will

be intiated whenever you open your car boot or open your car door with your keys, this is same with Civic. but

motion move when will trigger your car alarm.

-Rear car seat can be lower\ narrow it down to a better position for lying down and sit with comfort. Front

seat is just nice as it does support your back, make me feel relax when driving.

-Viewing when driving: Rear and front is hard to judge, as I can't see anything, may be installing a front

sensor which altis or good car have will help.

-I do not find any slipped at rear bumper for now.

-Accessories: Modulo body kit can be get outside in any accessories shop. Some of the accessories shop told me

that the modulo grill might be available after CNY or next 1 or 2 month ahead. BUT keep in your mind that any

installation which involve wiring cutting or replacing will VOID your car warranty such as installing the sill

plate which have led in any accessories shop will make you say BYE BYE to your warranty. Always check with

service center for warranty term and conditions, not with your SA as salesman will say anything to earn money.

Thats all for now. Hope more sharing from you guys smile.gif

Also to note that when ppl say Warranty Will be Void.. it's just for that particular component that u've changed. not like void for the whole car.

Say if you change ur suspension or springs to aftermarket ones, ur warranty for the suspension or springs will be void. but soon after..your door or boot cover falls out or break. it doesnt mean that ur warranty for those part will be voided too.

Good review there tillerman. About the tint, my dad has the same tint and there was no dust or bubble from the first day. Anyway, give it 2 weeks to fully dry and if u see dust or trapped bubbles, go back to them.
