Hi etigge, thank you so much for the valuable inputs, now i know which one to go for... hehe... it time to go shopping... anyway, do you have any shop that carry dahon brand in KL/SEL area to introduce? Checked with Sin Guan Eng dengkil, unfortunately they dont carry dahon brand.

I saw Dahons in Tat Seng Cycles in Taman Anggerik, they also have a branch in Kota Kemuning. GW Cycles also have them but GW cycles are quite expensive. I also saw 2 units in Joo Ngan's Son in D'sara Uptown. I think you need to bargain with him, HARD!

Dahon don't sell the hubs or the rims by itself. It has been argued by a lot of Dahonese in forums but they are still not selling it separate. The whole wheelsets are available though. Here you can check it here. I think the cheaper ones costing USD69.00 are usable but I think the USD99.00 is more suitable or go for the best Kinetix Pro for USD199. They ship worldwide so it's still cheaper to buy online.

Or you can visit Mr.Lee of GW Cycles in Kota Kemuning. He stocks them but really expensive. The cheapest set is RM600, some rims from China, I think. He also stock a few sets of Kinetix Pro but he is selling it for RM1600.00 shocking.gif

Hi, not sure whether is it relevant to ask here....

I would like to know where to get a proper cycling apparels from top to bottom in KL/Selangor? Most shops/mall only sell running apparels & shoes.

Thanks.

At first glance, they look nice but scrutinize carefully, the front forks were like cut off and another piece with mounting for disc brake were welded on. That looks ugly! They added nice components though which I suspect to steer your eyes away from the frame. For folding bikes, the paramount criteria is the folding joint! It must be strong and secure when unfolded. I usually look at the folding steering post and handle bar grips. Off course, branded ones are good and the cheaper ones, handlebars cannot be changed.

There are many new brands cropping out. Cronus, the above mentioned Bolujie, Louis Garneau and also Langtu. Java and Doppelgangers are coming up quite fast but all these bikes are obscure in support. icon_rolleyes.gif

Obscure in support in what sense? Weaker bicycle frame or lack of spare parts?

Hi H2D, browse through Lerun website dealer and found one at TMN Seri Serdang, unfortunately Speed P8 they don't have stock, have to order and wait. Boss there very friendly and introduced me Cronus brand, he then open up newly arrive Cronus PD3.0 & Hign Speed 3.0. Wow, one look at both bikes very tempting. Price wise, P3.0 ~ 1.4k, HS3.0 ~ 1.7K. Both 8 speeds and using SRAM X7/PG-850(8SP), ALLOY V BRAKE, double wall rim, schwalbe big apple tires...etc.

Any sifu out there experience Cronus folding bikes before? Any comments? dilemma right now whether to go for Speed P8 or Cronus... decision decision... comments pls....Attached Image Attached Image

i noe d sri serdang bike shop, d boss can giv u good price on many stuff biggrin.gif be courteous as usual.....
i've not seen cronus before...

what u can do is, find out which rodalink got speed p8, and go there and inspect the bike kau kau until u satisfy,
even better if u can find a shop which can giv u test ride.

d dengkil shop (look at my previous post) deals wit cronus, mebe they can let u test, not sure....

most importantly is compare how it folds, and the folding joint mechanism closely.....
built quality....

new speed p8 maybe different, so, old speed p8 seems better in spec.....

rodalink got sale now till 1st jan...

after looking at pics online....
there should be a huge difference between the cronus joint and dahons vise grip....
cronus joint the latch is at the hinge side, something like dahon's v-clamp tech, but not quite....
so u should check it out carefully, before decide...
anyway the price difference is kinda huge, and cronus is copying speed p8 looks almost the same biggrin.gif
china selling cronus pd3.0 is RMB 2380, so price here is kinda OK.

cronus joint

Like if they have spares for the steering post or the screws and nuts and bolts for each part of the bikes. Components like rear derailleurs, cranks, bottom bracket, saddles and brakes are quite standard, even mountain bikes part can be used but parts like the fittings for the folding parts and fork are quite hard to source. Even Dahons are quite hard to find locally but at least some online bike shops stocks them because of their popularity.

for dahon, i think if a customer really needs to get the spare parts for joints, they ( dahon ) can get it for u.
first, contact dahon directly, then they will contact LERUN,

this is the old dahon's patented V- Clamp built quality....
