QUOTE(H2D @ Nov 26 2012, 05:30 PM) of cos can... hehehe..... i'm bout 75kg i believe n by jumping do u mean like those jumping off rocks at trails?if u r not heavy n don't use it for jumping..... a good folding joint will last. u wan full size mtb like montague or wan small wheels. smaller wheels abit tougher for off road.... i'm talking more bout the occasional "jump" from roadside pavement etc |

QUOTE(H2D @ Dec 19 2012, 11:37 AM) yea, as for speed p8, if still got old model in bike shop better grab... or second hand oso ok, cos not sure the 2013 spec is not the same, the bike components, no pump in the post etc... well ugo does fit my budget n I think it's not bad looking at all for its price Added on December 19, 2012, 11:38 am ugo should last for some time, even cheaper oso got.. if u don't mind the looks well, time to go shopping then! |

QUOTE(H2D @ Dec 19 2012, 06:06 PM) most shops said they sold for rm700-ish but outta stock now n some wont order anymore due to the influx of china-branded-n-made foldies QUOTE(etigge @ Dec 19 2012, 09:35 PM) It's worth the extra bucks. IMHO! u mean it's worth the extra bucks for the dahon?Added on December 19, 2012, 9:37 pm I saw Dahons in Tat Seng Cycles in Taman Anggerik, they also have a branch in Kota Kemuning. GW Cycles also have them but GW cycles are quite expensive. I also saw 2 units in Joo Ngan's Son in D'sara Uptown. I think you need to bargain with him, HARD! |

QUOTE(etigge @ Dec 22 2012, 11:59 AM) I think the Dahon Boardwalk D8 is the limited anniversary version. It has 8 speed and also double walled rims. They also come in a special green colour or white off course. hmm too bad i'm based in pg!http://www.mudah.my/Dahon+Dr+Hon+Broadwalk...II-19429183.htm http://www.mudah.my/Dahon+Dr+Hon+Broadwalk...le-19381047.htm If you visit them and are serious, there's still some discount. I am thinking of selling off my Eco 7 n why r u selling? upgrade? |

QUOTE(mbax @ Dec 26 2012, 09:37 AM) yep yep! r u from penang too?Added on December 26, 2012, 11:10 am QUOTE(etigge @ Dec 26 2012, 06:05 AM) There's a few option if you want to cycle up Air Itam dam. Easiest is to change the front crank to a roadie bike's crank with 53/39 T and add in a front derailleur and also shifter. The smaller 39T will make the pedalling easier but you also cannot forego the 53T as you will need it too on flat roads. Another is to change to 9 speed which needs your hub to be changed to accomodate the 9 speed 11/34 or 11/36 tooth cassette. This also needs the shifter to be changed and also the rear derailleur. I think modifications to the crank will suffice but off course it would be nice to do both front and rear. hey thanks for the input bro!I too plan to ride up Fraser's Hill one day and still trying to train myself up. I modified all the Dahons to 8 speed ( except the Speed P8 which already comes with an 8 speed gearing)with 34T (lowest gear) and plan to look for a used roadie crank and the front derailleur to add later. Another cheaper option is to train yourself Just starting to cycle up the dam at this instance is not possible unless you push and ride, push and ride, where push is more than riding and going down, you need to get used to the bike itself as first time foldie users will find the steering twitchy! so basically the cheapest n easiest is to make it 2 x 7 speed right? any idea how much would that cost? n me too wanna train so that i can ride up itam dam on a foldie n therefore improving my stamina n strength but it's gonna take a toll on my knee i'm sure. barely reached the temple yday n knee already sore. had no problem riding all the way up one shot on a 30-speed mtb though last month This post has been edited by 2kia: Dec 26 2012, 11:10 AM |
