I will give an honest opinion. Mine is a 4 sealed bearing one (Novatec) and it's not not much different. Off course any improvement is critical in competitions but we are not in competitions, are we? Advantage is more to the hubs not getting loose as in cone ball bearings where you need to readjust it. Once the cone ball bearing setup gets a bit loose, the rims tend to wobble slightly. If it is too bad, the rims might rub againts the brake pads and makes pedalling tougher.  tongue.gif

Does ur Novatech hub suit 28h? And more importantly (for me at least), does it make the 'tick tick tick' sound? I had goose bumps when I heard that sound on expensive bikes and ever since that, I've swoon (with great dignity I might add) over such bikes.

Hey thank a lot. It's indeed Kenda K909A. I am not sure how to define nice o not as this is my very first time riding bicycle for quite a few years ago. Need to buy other tyre like Kojak or Marathon etc to compare then only know. tongue.gif

Am sure u can ask more discount. The rrp is RM980. Normally they give 10-15% discount or more if u know the shop owner. brows.gif

I highly recommend "Polygon Xerama SP151" folding pedals RRP RM38.00 per pair which are retailed by Rodalink outlets. My pair has logged in 3200km (bought 2 years ago) and it still look new without any creaking sound.

Actually these Polygon folding pedals are OEM by Marwi Group, one of the world's largest pedal manufacturers which produced 30 million pairs of pedals annually.

Function: folding both sides function
Body: aluminium body, nylon (black) cage
Axle: boron steel
Bearing: adjustable ball type
Reflector: approved
Size: 110 x 70 mm
Weight: 412 gram/pair

Advantages:

1. Cheap
2. Light weight
3. When I push my bike on a longer distance, I would fold the pedals so that they would not slam into my leg or anything in the way.
4. Sometimes I would fold the pedals together locking up the bike so to discourage thief of my bike. Many people have not seen a folding pedal.
5. You may lose the quick-release pedals but not folding pedals as they are permanently attached.

Now I have seen a few of my friends are using SP-151 pedals now.

Happy pedaling.

It's a 14 or 16 inches wheel. But if you like compact and able to handle the fast cadence of a 16 incher, it's worth the bargain. rclxms.gif

Dahon Broadway ? hmm.gif Is it Dr. Hon Boardwalk? Most rider will go for the Java Fit because of the specs and also the number of gears but IMHO, I will take the Tern C7. The construction of the frame is the best among all but sadly the components are the worst among all. If you are in to joining rides with other riders, be prepared to spend more on upgrading in future if you take the Tern.

Still. I will go for the Tern. GW cycle is selling the same Tern with an upgraded front crank making it 14 speed for RM1600.

Isn't Dahon and Dr Hon is the same? Yes, the shop do says that Tern have the best construction of the frame. For look I will say dopperganger 211 assault. Java Fit blue colour seems good too with front disc brake etc and so do dopperganger. On the otherhand Tern c7 only getting Raleigh Ugo spec! Hmmmm

Btw, any recommendation on saddle bag? Any brand will do? Hard or soft casing better? I mostly wan to put keys, wallet and iphone into the bag. Budget rm50 or less

Last week bought some second hand Schwalbe Big Apples 20 x 2.00 tyres. Have put some mileage on the tires around my area, which does not always have good roads.

The tires actually do a good job in absorbing much of the uneven roads and bumps and potholes. So much so, the ride is now more enjoyable.

The thing to note is that the acceleration power is not as before with the schwalbe kojaks ( the kojaks if pumped up with high pressure - very fast). But with more comfort, I don't mind. Takes just a bit more effort to pedal, and you get to enjoy the scenery in a more relaxing way. I will try to pump in more air to get the air pressure higher and see if this will help a bit or not.

With the Big apples, I can now ride slowly in the forest trails around Bukit Kiara and FRIM, but only if there are no excessive obstacles such as loose rocks or big branches lying across the trails.

One more good trail to go to is the Kemensah falls.
The entrance is just next to the Zoo Negara, and if I park my car some near the Zoo, then can just cycle up the decent road to explore all the way up the streams to the falls. There are some rest houses along the way for some holiday makers who want some back to nature time..
