if ur alternator give problem it will jerk your car as well. In other word u face intermittent power failure. Did your check engine light up?

engine light doesn't turn on. but the rpm light, the fuel gauge meter light and the door close light turn on.

alternator is the one that charge the battery when the car running? Jerk? What kinds of jerk? I also facing some jerk problem but not so frequent... Between my car using ns55 battery ... Battery kong also can cause that starting problem? Between, how much you convert your engine from 4g18p to current now , zen sifu? Meter panel all that also have to change?

Yes alternator will charge the batt but not only that it provide the power supply to entire car when engine is running.

I spent RM11K for my conversion, Halfcut cost RM6.5K and the balance is to rebuild my engine, exhaust, piggyback, JPJ endorsement. The cost can be reduce to RM7-8K if your expectation to ur new engine is not high. You can choose to use back the standard dashbord but there will be alot of wiring cutting n join. I change my dashboard Mitshubishi bcos I want the wiring to be pulg n play.

Last time i also had the cold start problem..but after did the throttle body cleaning and changing the alternator...no problem at all..now, can start the engine and instantly on the air cond and change gear(mine auto).no problems at all compared to last time when the engine will struggle to stay alive.

that was exactly the same problem to me when I'm with 4G18, but my case is slightly better as my engine did not dead instantly, all I need to do is wait till the rpm drops then engage gear n swtich on aircon.

Yea. earlier, i was told to clean the throttle body..it helps..but only for a while...then i didn't bother about it until im forced to change the alternator...2 batteries kong in 8 months..since then, no problem already.

mine, i had to change it last june..it is around 400+..for a new one...with slightly higher amp..10 more amps compared to the standard one.

maybe you should consider installing those noise insulation material all round.
waja 4g18 is well known for being loud.
hence, anything over 100km/h in speed and all you hear is the engine / wind sounds which is
louder than the audio system itself
