Anyone have any idea why Cyberjaya University College Of Medical Sciences and Allianze College of Medical Sciences didn't appear in IMED listing but all are recognized by MMC? I suspect the authorized agency of the government did not write to FAIMER.

i don't think it is the job of mmc ti get med schools listed in other list, such as imed.........

the respective med schools will have to apply for listing themselves, and they will have to satisfy set criteria.....

the cucms recognition is a mmc issue, NOT imed issue.........

May i know why mmc drop the recognition of CUCMS? how about Allianze College of Medical Sciences? i still see them on the list of medical institute recognized by mmc.

it is just to be eligible for certification by the ECFMG, one has to be a graduate of a medical college that is listed in the International Directory of Medical Schools (IMED).

Cucms has exceeded their maximum intake number for one of the batch which included jpa and Mara students as well, defying mmc's rules. Thus the pulling back of the accreditation.

mmc taken back recognition from cucms due to number of students exceeding the quota for intake batch 2010/11(my batch).they can only take 150 but they had taken 236 students.to get their recognition back, cucms must expelled 86 of their students.some of them had volunteered going to taylor, segi, etc.just last week, the name list of the students who need to go out is announced.leaving my batch to 150 students.they would have choice to either go to rcmp n aucms.but most of them are scholars so theres no worry about financial matter.

Hey guys, just wondering. Can a graduate from UCSI take the MRCP? Will he/she be eligible to take the test?

The recognition is not retracted because our recognition period is not yet expired. MMC will come back for re-evaluation this april and the problems is already solved because 80+ students from first year is already removed.

Well in the second schedule it shows
"29/07/2010 sehingga 31/12/2010" so won't you say it was retracted after a few months?
so currently it's not recognized until MMC comes for the re-evaluation and decide to award recognition again as long as the management don't go and do something stupid again.

Alliance sure will appreciate the windfall.

Dont worry, if you believe Dr. Zainudddin " Our medical graduates are comparable with other world class universities.....". Maybe in terms of physical height or size!

These people must be deluded...at 1 million ringgit for tuition fees alone, you might as well go to Johns Hopkins directly, international students there only pay 42,600 USD per annum

Link: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/som/offices...t/1112cost.html

Odds are this going to be another UNSW Asia, except you're not even getting a degree from Johns Hopkins ?!!

"That kind of fee surely is a record breaker for a medical IPTS in Malaysia"

Correction: I have reason to believe it's the MOST expensive medical degree in the world smile.gif

Scholarships & Financial Aid
For Malaysian Students

In recognition of its commitment to attracting physicians, specialists and researchers – including Malaysian citizens working abroad – the Malaysian government has made a profoundly generous offer of support to attract the best and brightest students to Perdana University Graduate School of Medicine. The government will provide funds to eligible Malaysian students entering this programme.

Even with the financial support promise, it's still obscenely overpriced; how does PUGSOM justify charging 250000 (approx. 80000 USD) per year when medical schools like AIMST charge only 45000 per annum. If AIMST or even Monash are calling themselves world-class, how would PUGSOM describe itself? Best university in the world? I'd be amazed if they could recruit even one private student.

Any form of financial aid from the government would inevitably come from the taxpayers, notwithstanding the fact that Johns Hopkins can bail out of this project any time. Funny thing though, as a truly global institution (or so it claims), its application form still requires you to enter your ethnicity and religion...

Wow, Malaysia truly is amazing. Not only do we have the highest medical school count to population ratio, we can now boast of the most expensive university in the world laugh.gif
