QUOTE(skyde @ Jan 23 2009, 11:13 AM) hi ladies and gentlemen, i have had the exact same problem. what i did was to do a full format of the memory card on my PC and also to do a full disk scan. Later, I formatted the memory card using my E71. After doing these, i have yet to encounter any problem.1) has anyone of you encountered the following before? some applications in memory card has gone when i install a new application into the phone. i restarted the phone, but those applications still cannot be seen in the application manager. tot that this might be a memory card problem, i remove the card from the phone and slot it back. Now even my mp3s, ringtones, documents, applications in memory card has vanished. I tried to locate the mp3s, ringtones and documents in the file browser but to no avail. 2) if i proceed to format the memory card, will i be able to get all the files back into the formatted memory card thru the nokia pc suite? Just want to share a downside about the E71. Mine is the black version. The paint is coming off some of my phone's QWERTY keys..5 in fact. I use the original pouch and slide my phone in and out usually. Could be some of the dust trapped inside that had been scouring the keys. I sent my phone to the Nokia people in Sunway complex. You know what I found..I was told by the technician there (though not officially) that my "ori" phone is actually assembled here in Malaysia! Also, no guarantee on the keys. That sucks!

Pardon my ignorance but can I compare a Blackberry 8707V and a Nokia E71 in terms of capabilities?
Thanks! |

to update my firmware, is it as simple as downloading nokia software updater, connect the usb, back up my files, update software then restore my files, is it as easy as that, or will i come across some problems?
I have also been on the nokia software updater and its telling me phone is up to date and the software i am using is... 100.07.76 is this correct or is there a newer 1? i only got my phone 3 weeks ago. This post has been edited by MrLarner82: Jan 24 2009, 08:17 AM |

Singapore or APAC firmware already 200.00. If you get that message it shows you are using an AP phone that different only RM100- 200 difference when u buy. As its as simple as you say because i do it so many times but REMEMBER THERE IS A RISK when updating firmware let says your PC hang? cable disconnect or watever reason interuption between your pc and phone if fail your phone will be unable to boot up. N82 have exception thereI have also been on the nokia software updater and its telling me phone is up to date and the software i am using is... 100.07.76 is this correct or is there a newer 1? i only got my phone 3 weeks ago. |
