You cannot turn the default camera sound off. It is illegal in some countries to have no camera sound.

My E71 (Ori) has the update today.
You can check if your phone has an update at http://europe.nokia.com/A4577224

Latest available software for Nokia E71, product code 0561925

I just updated my E71 to the newest 200. firmware.

The phone is a lot faster and no hangups.

GPS was an instant lock from my house (before it took 10 mins)

I have the quick access to my contacts by just typing their name at the home screen (asia version was disabled before)

I hacked my phone before, and i dont regret one bit upgrading. It is well worth it .

Just remmeber to backup your phone.

Oh yeah, new themes are awesome smile.gif

I didn't change my prodcut code.
mine is 0561925 and it gets the update from Nokia Software Update.
you can download it from nokia website
just plug in ur phone, turn on the program and it will update .
after 1 day of use, only used 2 bars with the usual sms, voice call, pics, gps for 15 mins.

the GPS lock has greatly improved.

If you dont hack your phone, I'd say update.
Just go to your MEMORY and create a backup, then restore after the firmware update. Everything will be at its original place.

Memory card backup is a lot faster
takes less than a minute

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Jan 18 2009, 06:22 PM)
What is the difference between update using the Nokia Backup and using the phone to backup to the Memory card?
contents of backup will be the same? which is faster?

Added on February 14, 2009, 1:24 pmDownloading the update takes awhile but after that, the process is less than 5 mins.
Make sure you backup everything before updating your firmware.

Not much, just that its easier to do because the author compiled everything into one file.

Not true, I always exit my message app before the message it sent out and I never had a problem.
Mostly you did not press send or you have no reception.
After you press SEND, the message will send in the background and you dont have to wait for it to close the message app.

QUOTE(tchiaming @ Feb 27 2009, 01:25 AM)
i used to do this as well. right after i sent my msg, immediately i exit everything. sometimes the msg goes thru. sometimes it doesn't. it's normal.
so, just to be sure, i just wait for the "message sending" icon to disappear.
that means that ur msg is sent.
Press T to focus. there is no auto-focus. it's like a semi auto focus where u have to press T to focus.
same goes to macro mode. just press T

btw, the v200.21.118 firmware is AWESOME! i love the camera so much more now and the contact search at the main page is freaking cool.  rclxm9.gif
