I've heard about when u close fring, it will disconnect u. Btw, is 8gb ipod touch enuf? 1g or 2g better? those game and apps, about how big it is? Becos my total mp3 is around 4gb currently. BUt no plan to put all into it lo.

actually i havent used my fring after how long i downloaded it dun like IM using ipod haha. im using the 8GB one and my songs are around 5GB (dont want to put my whole library in there anyway...wont fit and wud be too hard to search for the songs i actually like), but no storage problems for the apps so far. they come in really small sizes. can't really remember the exact sizes, but i think they're mostly under 20MB. then again, I only have the free ones el cheapo haha

by all means go for the 2nd gen. faster processor (evn faster than iphone 3g) and got oh-so-useful speakers!

I have BeejiveIM for all my messaging needs. Pretty good and stable.

Other than that, I am loving Remote and Burning Monkey Casino.

oh.. i tot 1g and 2g differences is only the outlook lolz. But cannot jailbreak, mean cannot get 3rd party apps

I am selling my psp for ipod touch. Worth it? lolz...

Another thing is, how is the safari browser? Is surfing as fast as how u surf with PC? With my p1i, it is fast but still need to wait for the page to load.

1) nah, alot of different. processor, slimmer design & built-in speaker. Due to different processor, that's why until now no JB

2) yea yea.. almost all iphone app can be install in touch.

3) yep. except the phone call function and camera. But the 2G touch can support external mic.

4) Hmm, is it me or what. I feel abit slow using the safari browser. And it crashes alot especially when load a heavy javascript/ajax site. Fyi, no flash support

Sorry a, becos ipod touch aint cheap ma.. i still student, looking for a good function mp3 player. Any other comment about the safari browser?

oh, then u think 8gb is sufficient? Do u use it to watch movies frequently? And the youtube apps in touch is same as the youtube website one? I mean the video content? Or the sucky m.youtube.com where the videos are outdated.

Hmmmm, depends on the number of songs or videos u have, as well as any future apps and photos that u intend to download / install... For me, 16GB is more than enough for 700+ songs and around 2k photos... I have only got one miserly video of an iPod touch demo also...

As for YouTube, i can't really comment as i hardly watch it on the touch!

guys what a JBed touch can do and cant do? is it important to have a JBed touch? i roughly have no idea or have some opportunity to discover it by myself as i dont have any, but thinking to get one soon. any ideas?

After you JB your ipod touch, you can install third party applications for free

but 2G still cant be jailbroken

Wondering will the developers will actually bother to JB touch 2g or not.

if jailbreak mean those itunes apps u no need pay for it? Or if jailbreak, then ur ipod touch can use those "ahem" version apps? iF havent jailbreak, means have to buy original?

Mate, what is this Winterboard app that u're wishing is available for the touch?

And yeah, i'm also curious as to why Apple developer have not worked out any proposal to enable jailbreaking on the iPod touch 2G? If the 2G can be JB'ed, its attractiveness will sure jump up a great notch for many potential buyers!
