Well, i got my iPod touch around the later part of October actualy, due to the delays in getting stock from my distri (remember the problem with getting Sirim approvals around that time?)...
One thing i can say if u want to purchase the touch, just go for it! It's one of the topsellers in Machines (see the article in The Star or NST a couple of days back, forgot which paper already!) and many ppl have purchased the touch for the Christmas holidays also... |

Guys, i saw one chap with an app on iTunes called SG Transport (also available are SG Trains and SG Buses, which are standalone apps from the Transport one) for the iPhone and iPod touch... I'm actually interested in doing up such an app for our Klang Valley Transportation system (similar to Metro on the PalmOS, but for the iPod platform instead) and I'd like to know what program do these developers use to write their programs...
Maybe, if response is great, i'll also consider expanding this app to cover the other two large metropolises of Penang and Johor Bahru! |

QUOTE(allvin @ Dec 25 2008, 12:20 PM) huh? then why you ask le? Yalor, its quite a disadvantage to not know programming language, even though the idea is there... Maybe i'll consider getting an Apple Developer (iPhone + touch) guidebook or something like dat and learn it up! |

QUOTE(winshoo @ Dec 25 2008, 02:19 PM) Hi evrythincool & bryanyeo, I think u had better ask them to reset their router... I also get this same problem whereby the WiFi signals are detected by the notebook / touch but both are unable to access the Internet (even at home sometimes, where we use a wireless router)...My Ipod Touch (2nd Gen) detected the IP Address, Router and DNS as well. But I cannot surf the web. I even tried with my friend's 1st Gen Ipod Touch. It cannot do anything. |

QUOTE(kenken @ Dec 26 2008, 03:44 AM) Guys how much memory does the ipod touch use to operate? Like what chingwooi said, this is similar to any hard drive u buy, whereby some data is stored in ROM (correct?) and cannot be removed... That's why there is quite a large chunk of memory that cannot be used for a 16GB touch (my unit), amounting to 1.5GB... |

QUOTE(samus_ng @ Dec 26 2008, 05:26 AM) Does anyone here experience problems with the On-The-Go playlist? For me I'm able to do whatever I want with it until I sync it with iTunes, the playlist will no longer be changable(can't edit it, become normal playlist liao) I really hate this, is there any way to fix it? Hmmm, didn't know about that as i hardly use the On-The-Go playlist anyway, lol... I do have a large bunch of songs stored in an OTG list though and what u mean by the "playlist is no longer changeable"? |

Guys, i'm just wondering whether it's possible to organize a gathering for iPod touch users... Of course it's also open to users of other iPods as well as Apple products!
What do u think? |

Hahahaha, there is certainly a lot of iPod touch users man... But still, it's a good idea for a gathering once in a while so that we can meet up face-to-face, similar to the BeamFest that was held when i was with the KVPUG (Palm Users Group)...

QUOTE(evrythincool @ Dec 27 2008, 04:56 AM) yes. it SHOULD be. I have purchased 25 apps from app store and face no problem. I agree with u there, mate... One free app that gave that touch lots of problem was the touch-hockey... That darn app hanged my iPod so many times i decided to delete it from the system, once-and-for-all!IF you want to download free app, download those which you really need it and must be popular one. Most of my other apps are doing fine though, including the freebie Facebook as well as Bejeweled 2 (US$2.99)... Added on December 27, 2008, 11:30 am QUOTE(civic98 @ Dec 27 2008, 11:09 AM) Anyone can update whats the promos on iPod Touch? I am getting one anytime now (no hurries though). Just wondering where to get it. Not very confident with getting from forumers though, prefer resellers. I am having some promos on the iPod touch that i'm selling, mate, including the one whereby a purchase of any iPod (excluding shuffle) will include a free Earpump earphones by Sonicgear... Just check out my "Apple iPod" thread below for more information ya... My first choice now is Machines, cause I can redeem my MBB Treatpoints for cash value. And for information, I'm trading as a sole proprietorship btw, not on an individual basis... Which means that my receipts all have the company stamp on it... QUOTE(silencer @ Dec 27 2008, 10:40 AM) Needs advise here.....beside the original charger..where can i purchase the compatible charger...as the original is kinda a bit expensive... These compatible chargers are actually very affordable and can be bought from most of the shops in Lowyat Plaza though... The original Apple one costs M$109.00, FYI...But for me, that charger gave me a scare when it blew up (i.e. made a "pop" sound when i switched it on) just as i wanted to charge my iPod touch... Thet darn thing worked the first time but for this second charge, it almost spoilt my touch and i also almost got a short circuit! |

Guys, what good apps are there that can sync the Tasks in MS Outlook with the iPod?
I'm gradually bringing up the touch to become the Zire 72s' (Palm) replacement and so far, the iPod is doing a good job as an appointment scheduler, contacts database, and notepad (quite mahuan when typing though! |

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Dec 30 2008, 08:33 PM) Environmental friendly bro... environmental friendly Hehehehe, i agree with u there mate... The keyboard is too small for a person like me with large fingers and i tend to make loads of typo when making some short notes... But the touchscreen-based input recognition is very handy for a quick jot though... Better than the Palm which requires the use of a stylus to enter the characters... |

QUOTE(limchee @ Jan 1 2009, 05:36 AM) Large form iPod touch to launch Fall '09 Wow, that is gonna be interesting... But if this touch is so big, how to put in our pockets? Might as well become something like an Apple netbook! We’ve got this from three independent sources close to Apple: expect a large screen iPod touch device to be released in the Fall of ‘09, with a 7 or 9 inch screen. Prototypes have been seen and handled by one of our sources, and Apple is talking to OEMs in Asia now about mass production. Apple has been experimenting internally with large form tablet devices for years, one source says, but there was concern that users wouldn’t like the device. The difference now is the iTunes app store, which has thousands of games and other applications that are perfect for a touch screen device with an accelerometer. Apple says more than 300 million applications have been downloaded since the App Store launched in July 2008. Combine the App Store, iTunes and a browser and you have one heck of a device. We don’t have any information on pricing. The current iPod touch, with a 3.5 inch screen, starts at $229. The 32 GB model is $399. We expect the price on the larger iPod touch to be significantly higher. Apple rumors, particularly Apple tablet rumors, tend to come and go. I’m not saying Apple is definitely launching a large form iPod Touch. But sources I trust are saying they are currently planning to, and one source has actually held the device. wtf?! sos: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/12/30/large...nch-in-fall-09/ |
