Just received my MBPro 13". Need advise whether to charge it to full first before on the set or can straight use the MBP? Question is to enable proper battery usage and longevity of the battery. Advise please.

Built right into each of the new MacBook Pro notebooks is a breakthrough battery that lasts dramatically longer and does so without increasing the size or weight of MacBook Pro. On a single charge, the battery in the new MacBook Pro lasts up to 7 hours (8 hours on the 17-inch MacBook Pro)1 and can be recharged up to 1000 times.2 That’s compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks. Advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging allows the battery to maintain charging capabilities longer and determines the optimal way to charge the battery’s cells. Because the battery lasts up to five years, MacBook Pro uses just one battery in the same time a typical notebook uses three. That makes for less waste. And that, in turn, makes for one environmentally friendly battery.

the new MBP battery seems to be able to charge upto 1000 times compared to regular which is 300 times before it reaches 80%

Should we use power supply while using mbp ? ... or only charge it to maximum and unplug the power supply? Since it is built in, we cant remove

wouldnt the battery being charged all the time if Ac supply is on all the time ? Will this reduce the charge cycle dramatically then ?

what kind of calibration needed ? ... Full up the battery life and charge it full ?

this probably happens everyday at apple sales centre where demo units usually plugged in and operates the whole day

Well, it means that your Mac is not 0 months old when you first bought it. This is normal lar, the age here is dated from the date it was manufactured, not the date it was bought.

And a battery health of 99% for 20 cycles is pretty good actually.

mine,24 cycles, still 100% mah...i think it's just the matter of luck...btw, i think if it's 99 or 98% still cn consider ok,laa..mine sometimes goes to 97% don't really understand why. Maybe it's just the software itself.
