Haha, already had the iSTAT Menus installed while waiting for ur ans tongue.gif Nice man, thxs bunch. Which one is better ? the Menus, Pro or the Nano?
*
Just go with the Pro...I like all the info. The Nano version is just cute and tiny...not for me. You can try it out and decide which one you want to keep.

The battery thingy is really stupid. Yerterday i switched off my MacBook and the magsafe before i went to sleep. Then this morning when i turned on my lappy, i forgot to switch on the Magsafe 1st, guess what, for the split second when i went to turn it on, the battery is already down to 98% and charging lol. It drains out so freaking fast man xD

Ok so the conclusion, whenever i am at home or have the opportunity to a wall socket i should plug in the adapter and use it from the socket power? Regardless of my battery rate?

Cycles: 14
Health: 100%

Run on battery power at least once per week, else on AC power. Perform Battery Calibration once per month. I do hope the Battery Health could stay good and achieve 80% health at 300 cycles like Apple claimed.

to all Mac laptops users, if you still not aware about the importance of Battery Maintenance, do read the above article. (I suppose it does apply for all Laptops)

I have the drain issue as well, pretty fast drain if you ask me. I'll usually let it drain till about 90% or less and then charge it. One weird thing is, charging from 90% to 100% takes quite long, like an hour or so...

Standard Maintenance

For proper maintenance of a lithium-based battery, it’s important to keep the electrons in it moving occasionally. Apple does not recommend leaving your portable plugged in all the time. An ideal use would be a commuter who uses her MacBook Pro on the train, then plugs it in at the office to charge. This keeps the battery juices flowing. If on the other hand, you use a desktop computer at work, and save a notebook for infrequent travel, Apple recommends charging and discharging its battery at least once per month.

Got the info from here:-
http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html

Apple say Don't Plug in always. People say leave AC Plugged in. rclxub.gif

This is normal. I'm guessing the mac's charger uses a constant voltage (CV) charging method towards the later(ending) charging stage. The charging current will logarithmically become less and less at the battery reaches the peak voltage. This is certified to be the safer way to top up a li-ion battery to it's maximum capacity without overcharging it.

The earlier stage of charging uses a constant current (CC) method to provide the maximum charging current at a fast constant rate which is why it charges much faster before it reaches the point where the charger switches to CV charging mode. That is I'm assuming that mac's does it this way as most modern chargers do.

With proper calibration and use 2 - 3 times with battery a week, my 7 months old MBP's battery health still 100% with 42 cycles. smile.gif
