I agreed. What do they mean "not powerful"? This is plain stupid with no brains or simply just making a crap statement just b'coz they dont carry Denon brand!

or the profit margin derives from Denon is aint as fat as selling Pioneer and Onkyo.

Not stupid but unethical to provide false info.

Ask them to measure lower end Yammy AVR published power ratings vs real power output.  whistling.gif

Yes, you are quite right abt it. I must say that Marantz is quite 'honest' with its pwr rating.

I dont agree that they blame China for quality.
This is neither China product nor fake item. Many hifi manufacturers from UK and Japan now decide to assemble their products in China and still got high recommendation from hifi editors from UK & USA.
About where the assembly were made is more influenced by economic factor.

In other issue, some of our old minded people dont like products Made in Malaysia, i think they should be ashamed themselves that those product like Yamaha & Onkyo are designed for hifi people in UK & USA icon_idea.gif

Maybe it is their marketing strategy to sell only well known names, so everybody knows it

in my experience, Denon & Marantz is well known among people who really interested in audio system only.

i'd prefer to set priority in my setup in accordance to how much important each channel is.
The most important channels should be using the best speaker model we can afford, i.e, front left, right and centre.
The rest channel would be using less expensive speakers while acquiring new proper models in future

Already demo Bluray King Kong DTS-HD MA at CMY Sunway Pyramid,
Really impressed with sound processing from AVR1610, natural sound, tight bass, treble is clear and more balance. thumbup.gif
I always amazed by DENON sound since first time i amazed by my father DENON home stereo abut 20 years ago.

Hi Denon sifus here. I am currently using the Denon AVR3805 which do not have those Master Audio thing. Can I just buy a preamp or sourround processor that supports DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD and the connect the preout to my 3805 and use it as the amp?

That way I no need to buy a new amp because I am quite happy with the 3805 but only want to add the master audio features to it.

That way I can also upgrade to better amp later by just buying a new dedicated amp.

Yes, most of the processors are very expensive as it is for higher end market. Onkyo 5507 is about RM10K.

Cheapest processor that I know of is Emo UMC-1 : USD699
