Lolz... Proton Gen 2 Campro... I still remember how long they need to catch up with old City VTEC... And just be fair, 1.6 to 1.6 DOHC, you will see how "good" is the Campro vs B16.
And to be fair again, not to bash.. Proton improved a lot over decades... But still there are many people so over happy about their Campro, or even CPS they said as if it is "Proton VTEC"... It is improvement, but not really that far yet.
And go and see paultan forum, haha... I actually notice the real losers are those Dugong Vios... Saying that their godly VVT-i DOHC will win in terms of power, handling, performance... Even Satria GTI or Civic will bow to them as if they have 200HP on their godly Dugong

Even VTEC, CPS, Vario Cam all are shits for them.. Lolz hmm but i heard its really petrol guzzling for campro + cps. anyway back to topic, i noticed the new city odometer show maximum speed of 220, but in real life does anyone knows the top speed of the new city?

Yes.. Campro and CPS not for fuel economy as their main purpose... But of course on the other side, they have a better output method... L series engine in Jazz and City balancing both.
And top speed, an old City SX8 1997(1.3L) could reach 190km/h while the meter max is 210... And many cars can hit a top speed exceeds 200km/h.. Just how long it will take... And basically, how heavy or loaded is that car. And you seldom can test the maximum top speed of a car in M'sia anyway... That 190km/h I achieved that on Kesas from USJ interchange until Kota Kemuning... = =
And guess yen you are really the first girl in this thread

Did you plan to get any add-on for your new city? I am getting the Lighted Side Door Step, Alloy Pedal. I wish the alloy pedal can be applied on my City VTEC 2004 also...

QUOTE(ZeroSP @ Dec 21 2008, 02:11 AM) Not really.. The L15A iVTEC SOHC power does win Vios... I drive both old and new vios before... Just the new City engine power not so on early rpm... Early rpm torque a bit low compare to Vios and City VTEC... If you S mode paddle shift.. rev it up and vios will be behind you. And certainly, Vios is DOHC but torque and HP lower than City. Anyone drive the old City CVT before you will know, even at 2k RPM constant your speedo will keep going on. This is extractly what i felt. The vios is more enthusiast and more responsive engine while the new city engine is quite weak at low revs. The previous city is all smooth in all rev ranges. That the beauty of CVT transmission.

erm city using DBW as opposed to vios which is cable DBW there will be a tiny bit of lag before the power kicks in.. and when the power kicks in, it is delivered in a linear way.... which is exactly how contis deliver their power... so actually its not city that is underpowered, its because the way how the power is delivered cable is instant response and with that u get a jerkier ride This post has been edited by kcng: Dec 21 2008, 09:57 AM

.. perhaps we haven't "run in" the City's engine yet since the test-drive units barely made < 100 km on the clock?

Yes, I totally agree with that, the car is still new. Have u guys floor it during test driving the new city? Dont be afraid, test drive car meant for you to floor and test it, I have 2nd test drive yesterday, i really floor it down and the car is very torqueky (shooting) and i-vtec engine under the hood sounded very nice.
