sysh, how much u will spend on #1, #2, #3, and #8?
*
How much did you spend on your Lenso Samurai + Tyres? (how much did you get for ur trade in?)

Well, I haven't worked it out completely 'cos I still need to source it...but roughly:
1. K&N (4") = RM250.00
2. CAI (Pipercross) = RM300 or Air Ram RM200
3. Heat shield = RM100 - 200 (Not sure, want to source together with my K&N)
4. Iridium (NGK IX) = RM 150
5. Front strut and lower arm bar (Ultra Racing) = RM200+

That's the approximate price I have seen around, my budget's around RM1k - 1.2k. Will try to shop around and see which one will not void my warranty.

MAMMA MIA! 67 Pages alreadyyyyy!

Anyways, i just got back from Bsar Honda showroom, saw a black City, wow - it looks even better in real life!
I asked the SA if I could try the car stereo with my USB player, and guess what - the sound system was really good for a stock system. Had lots of bass and crisp, clear vocals. Looks like no need to spend on ICE:P
And the coolest part - I can navigate thru my song list thru the steering wheel buttons.

I woul definately great this car if I wasn't migrating next year..sad.gif

Looks like the 1.5E kinda trumped the Latio 1.6 (Premium)

I never considered the Latio 'cos it's so tall 1535mm vs 1470 mm. That's a good 65mm. Great for perhaps tall people (but we Asians aren't generally very tall), I'm 5'10" and I fit just nicely in the City. Plus I didn't like the Latio's rear drum brake, less 'cool' factor for me..hehe!

just my own opinion.

why after test drive; ppl say city is less pick up than vios
1. weight of the car
2. rim size
3. this is a new engine, new gear box so need time for tuning. not like vios using the same engine the same gear box over all the version of vios.
4. bore & stroke size is diff
5. torque & HP for both car is diff. from the spec stated on the paper; if travel @ a certain speed; i think city will be more advantage.
6. gear ratio will also be diff. to make city perform better maybe there's a better gear ratio which someday the engineer will find out

com'on la.. one is sohc; one is dohc how to compare? one thing i admire is that honda always bring the technology to the top. if u put a sohc version on vios engine; will it able to produce 120hp/145nm??

honda always proven in technology; while toyota is improving in minor mistake to make things more perfect. as u can see that the 1st version vios compare with the dugong version; the gear shift is much smoother.
so goes for avanza.

fingers have long n short; nothing is 100% perfect

Dont you think Honda's designers and engineers are a bit too arrogant?
Its a cool looking car, but the spec, wth is wrong with them?

Just take a simple example. Old Honda City. They have VTEC, and then CVT, and then the sporty seat, and on top of that, spring that is more like sport spring, hard like hell. They are aiming to sell to youngster what. ALL THESE but SOHC engine? Come on!! If SOHC really so good, why their top end big VTEC is DOHC ler?

I will go for a test drive also. Very free lately. The exterior is really chun, but Im not a fan of exterior looks. Really wanted to see if Honda really made improvement over the old City or just a matter of a beautiful cover only.

BTW, on Honda vs Toyota, have to say Honda is the young blood and more daring to try new things while Toyota instead of being improving on small mistake, you should say they are more to the conventional side which is be safe rather than sorry. This is why they always relied on older technology that works and practical. Thats why Toyota main selling isnt styling but they still sells which is very strange (even though Im driving a company Vios). Another good example was Altis vs Civic.

I don't see anything wrong with the specs.
When Honda came out with the previous generation City, people said it was ugly.. looked like a frog.. now it came out with its bolder look, people complain about its engine. The same goes with the Vios, old Generation people say look nice but backroom space very cramp. New model come out, people complain Dugong look and ugly backside. I bet both Honda and Toyota have spent countless hours to try to please the market, but due to constraints on their budget and research data, it's probably the best they can do. They can even try to build a "perfect" car, but at the end of the day..people will still criticise about it. It's all about targeting a specific market and striking a balance. It's impossible to please everybody.

What's wrong with the L15A SOHC engine? Can you give me a logical answer in what way and why is it inferior to the 1NZ-FE DOHC engine?
As said previously, both companies are on a different marketing strategy. You need to differentiate yourself from another, if not..better just merge them together and sell 1 kind of car.

whats wrong with SOHC engine? what honda wants to show is that they can built high output engine eventhough they use SOHC engine. 1.5 SOHC, 120PS AND 174NM.anyway, can vios produce HIGH output if its engine SOHC? toyota relied on older technology because the company wants to cut cost. if you see high quality toyota models like LEXUS, the cars have a lot of new technology but the price is exorbitant. thus, LEXUS lose to other "orang putih" cars like merc and bmw. besides, toyota always design its car with old design with big, big square-shaped headlamps and the car does look sleek. etc. camry and altis. the grille always too big like old merc 70's. at the end of the day, people get tired and prefer more aerodynamic cars like honda and mazda. even merc has change its style. old merc looks like a box, but the new merc(etc. cls350) is sleeker and has modern design with its stylish headlamps. anyway, every people has their own taste. one can buy toyota and one can buy other type of japanese-made cars. whistling.gif however, nowadays, all new civic can be seen easily on the road compare to all new altis. thumbup.gif

hey guys.. my SA called me today and he said when the 1st batch of new honda city is out, the previous gen of honda city will get discount up to 7k. =.=''
85.8k - 7k - RM625 = around RM78k plus 2 years free service = 1.5k
so it's only 76.5k for Honda City Vtec!! and will be getting car in 2 weeks time
Auooo.... those who bought few months ago, they gonna shout =.='' doh.gif
