thinking of buying iphone 3gs.. right now considering whether with maxis plan or just buy the phone unlocked.

currently using celcom prepaid.. wanna upgrade so i can use data on iphone.. unlimited data for prepaid got ar?

There's no unlimited data plan for prepaid users under Maxis. Am not sure about DiGi & Celcom though but assuming you buy the Prepaid plan from Maxis, they may just give you some free data each month. i3G users got 500MB p/month so maybe it'll be alike for i3GS purchasers too.

I'm not sure you're on which Celcom Prepaid plan, but as I know you can subscribe "Celcom Broadband Prepaid" plan
and enjoy Unlimited Usage on 3G/EDGE/GPRS. Try check out your Celcom service menu there.

Daily Unlimited - RM6
Weekly Unlimited - RM20 (if available)

Perhaps you can call up the Customer Service to get more information about this.

The i3GS sold in USA are all tied to a plan. Even if U can get urself a unit, U will need to go through the unlocking process and as davidgary73 has mentioned, it may be a little problematic when it comes to firmware updates.

It's also best if U found out more information before rushing to make this purchase; esp since the product is made available for us Malaysians by Maxis.

1) i dont think you can buy it outright. like i got this fren, until now he still think iphone is $99, keep telling me he gona buy one from US. damn those fat ppl.

2) yes i believe thers software to unlock it now. as for jailbreak i m not sure
