by the looks of things... they said its going to be launched on the 24th march 2009... but i doubt that..

Bro Gen, I marvel at your skepticism, not in a negative way. But lately as opposed to much earlier rumours, this time a few quarters have come out so vehemently, advising even the date of launch. Given this, I personally believe it is true but like most things Malaysian, the date may be deferred but probably not for too long.

At this point, the launch of it here is only a matter of time. If you have lots of it..

erm hi guys. i was wondering if i buy an iphone from a apple store in US and bring it back to malaysia, will there be any casualties that i have to bear? like imigrations and customs. and could i actually use it here in malaysia? if yes how?

I just got a brand new Apple Iphone 3G 16GB which the seller said was from NZ. i tried restoring and activating on itunes and believing what the seller said was an officially unlocked iphone, i updated. Now the set is locked on 2.2.1 (02.30.09 baseband) though I finally activated using an optus sim card i got from austrailia before now. if the optus sim is in, i get full network but it cant work with Digi or Maxis.....

My questions are can i unlock the set from here in Malaysia.....?
does anyone now what number i have to call....?(i checked the optus website and i'm not exactly sure....)
how much do i have to pay extra for that and how long will it take......?

sorry guys, i know its a lot of questions but i need some advise and can't just allow the iphone sit in a drawer.....

i called optus this evening, and they said since i have a prepaid sim already, i just have to top up my account with AU$120 or sign up for a 6 months contract. I think i'll take the first option though.....
that's more unexpected expenses for as it is.......

guys, i dunno if its true, but my frenz is working with Maxis, and they are saying that Iphone 3G will be launching soon, with a price tag of RM1800, and monthly contract of RM100 and or other packages for heavy users. i think it will be available very soon. so guys, for those who want to grab one like me, pls hang onto it, dun buy elsewhere for RM2k+.

ur slow lar...ytdy mornin oso the news was out..lol.. u buy elsewhere for 2k, no contract, u buy from maxis...ur contracted from 6mths - 2yrs. and the iphone aint dat cheap wit the plan aswell.. so make a good decision 1st b4 commiting.

NZ set..if u haf any frens/family there..NZ979. or singapore..dats d most nearest alternative. or u can buy O2 UK set for 1.9k but its locked. many options. the best at d moment is sing set coz waranty is considered ok as its jus a 4hr drive compared to NZ. if u haf cash, stick wit maxis.
