Thanks TheWandererX. Really appreciate it. BTW, im in singapore now just want to compare the price with KL. Now decided to buy in KL instead, coz here after convert price in KL much more cheaper. Eg. EOS1000D here is SGD1099 with a 8GB Mem and original beg.

I feel that you ought to get a camera which uses Li-ion batteries. Although AA batteries are indeed easily obtained, they certainly do not last as long as Li-ion batteries.

I've walked into quite a number of camera shops.
Found out that these items are within your budget. I think you may take them into consideration before purchasing any.

Canon Powershot A470
Nikon Coolpix L18
Nikon Coolpix L16
Panasonic Lumix LS80
Kodak c813
Fuji A850

It depends on which part of both cameras you like more. Also known as personal preference.

In my opinion, most cameras around your range are almost the same... It's just that some have different features... while some don't. It really is up to you to choose.

I think the L18 and the Lumix LS80 would appeal to you most. These two are ok-ok cameras for their range. About the others, I've never seen or used before, so I can't comment.

Anyway, no problems mate. =)

Depends on which model you want. Just a note: low-end to mid-end Lumixes lose out in JPEG processing and low light photography.

Kit: Camera body + another lens.

Body: Camera body only.

Anyway, the entry-level DSLRs are:

Canon EOS-1000D - Kit 2k
Sony a200 - Kit 1.4k, Twin kit 2k
Sony a350 - Kit 2k+
Nikon D60 - Kit 2k
Nikon D80 - (used) kit 2k
Olympus E-520 - (used) kit 2k

You'd be better off choosing a new set, but I just quoted the others for your reference.

Anyway, twin kit is camera body + lens + another lens. = 2 lenses.

A tripod is great if you have lots of time to set up your camera and stuff to get a sharp photo. But for candid shots, you can just forget about that tripod smile.gif But still, a tripod albeit a cheap one is still useful to have just in case there's a need for it.
Flash expensive eh sweat.gif Well it's just the way it is then. But once you've ventured deeper into the DSLR world, the price of a flash is nothing compared to lenses smile.gif

If you're already well off in PnS and you want to move on, get a DSLR.. but if you're still not ready to venture into DSLR then get the LX3. AEB is a feature available in every prosumer/DSLR camera.
Oh.. you could ask your friend to get it for you then.
Ok, if you think it sucks, then it's your opinion.
Increase your budget a little more and get the LX3. The best prosumer around and trust me, you'll be happy about it.

Anyway, if you really can't, have a look at the PowerShot S5 or the FZ28. These should be around your price range.
If you can increase your budget, get an LX3 because there's not much choice in the prosumer range. Anyway, you could stick to your choices - but you should play with each one first. I've never used both so I can't comment.

Already settled down with the FZ28.. blush.gif
