may i know which digital camera is best for value?
in my mind is f100fd and + sandisk extreme III 4GB
was it a good combination?

i still wonder should i buy this camera?

or any other better camera to recommend ? in also the same price.

No matter if you get a 20 years old body, still impossible to get a good lens and a lousy body with RM800... Trust me, if you find such a cheap deal, it's a FILM SLR.

LX3 all the way. If you are looking for zoom, get the FZ28.

But the Canon has USM that enables zooming while recording

Panasonic's PQ is the best of all prosumers.

PQ refers to Picture Quality or Image Quality.
USM is a trademarked name by Canon for their ultrasonic motor for ultrasilent and fast focusing, or for the SX10's case, the USM is for silently zooming the lens.

Good quality pic with prosumer in low light can be a little tricky. I personally know that with the Canon S5, if u dun have flash.... your noise will kill your image. I have a personal rule of thumb where I will never boost my ISO to above 400. In fact, ISO 400 aso i try to avoid. But as an outdoor camera, it rocks! Add in a decent videocam with zoom

If you prefer low light shooting, why not jump to dslr? One of the reasons that pulled me to the S5 b4 my dslr was because of the video capabilities... but I dont think u're interested in that. Older models of dslr can get around ur price range, just add a few hundred more.

For the long zoom, the FZ-28 would suit you but it's out of your budget. In your specific model part, you stated SP570UZ - it's also out of your budget, but it's the best zoomer in the budget range you're having.

Low light photography can be done with the SP570 as long as you have a tripod ready. Most of the time though (and yes, 99% of the time) DSLRs perform far better than any type of camera in this type of situation. Increase your budget by RM400 and you can grab yourself a Sony a200.

What's your budget? Though, if your choices are the above, I'd recommend you to go for the 1000D.

Get a 1000D, and save the extra money up. If you want to spend it all though, fork out about RM100 more and get the 450D. I don't think many shops offer installment - but survey around. There might be one.
