Anyone know how Shioktoys preorder system works?

I've preordered some items but so far no updates whatever. Am I suppose to call them up and ask for the status? I did email them a few times but reply is like 20%.

I know their stocks usually come in abit later but their website hardly any updates. Are they short of people?

wa, was just thinking about buying from shioktoys. anybody here got good experience dealing with them? is their website system not up to date? thanks.

I've had a good experience with Shioktoys.... preordered Sideshow Darth Vader and received email from them one fine day... they'd hold for 3 days before releasing it for sale.... more good news for me was that the price I paid was lower than the price stated on the website.... so glad indeed.... rclxms.gif

I must say they're not as fast as XL but their PO system works..... I POed Utapau Clone Trooper but it arrived late.... in the end, I told them I wanted to cancel and they're fine with it brows.gif

So far they can deliver 99% of the time, I guess, it is best to call them to get the details.

Toonshoppe Penang..very bad experience..

I pre-ordered GSC Saber Lily for my lecturer and I, so 2 units in total, and the pre-order price was RM398, so I paid RM50 deposit per figure. When the stock came..only ONE came! They forgot to place pre-order for my lecturer! Not only that, there was a dent on the box..and at the end they charged me RM418 instead of RM398. Besides that, when I asked for the owner of the shop, the shop assistant told me that he went overseas for holiday for a month! =.=

When I pre-ordered, I asked the boss (owner of the shop):

Q: So when the stock arrives, I just need to pay RM398 including deposit?
A: Yes.

Q: So how many ppl ordered this figure? Can I choose my figure when I come here to collect it?
A: This figure alot of ppl pre-order. Yes you can choose.

Q: I want my box in good condition. Is it possible?
A: Yes, no problem. Just tell me what you want and Uncle will get it for you.

At last:
1) I was charged RM418 including deposit. I was told my the shop assistant that the Uncle follows the retail price. That idiot should have informed me when I place my pre-order!

2) Only ONE Saber Lily figure was there. When I asked the other shop assistant, they said they only placed one unit for pre-order. At last they found out that Uncle forgot to order another one. No news till now..

3) Dented box.

Today (Saturday), my Nendoroid Saber Lily arrived (yea..they receive their stocks very late zzz). They sent me and sms stating that I have to collect it by this Sunday. I was like WTF??! You only give me one day notice to collect my figure?

I should have just pre-ordered from XL-Shop..sigh..

=========================================================

EDIT:
So far I only deal with XL-Shop online. I love their service very much but there are stuff which I don't like..

1) Since I'm from Penang, I can only place pre-orders online. When placing pre-orders online, I need to pay FULL AMOUNT! sad.gif

2) Slow packaging and shipping. Takes few days for them to deliver the figure to me. Maybe its because they have little staff and alot of business laugh.gif

Other than that..its good..satisfied to the max thumbup.gif

Regarding XL-Shop,

I had PO'ed once from them recently, and I guess to get them deliver your stuff ASAP, you may need to make a call once the item has arrived XL (You can check the arrival thread on XL-forum.)

I made the call, and the next day I received my item. And the packaging was the best I had ever seen.

Really, this kind of packaging pwns all.

Other then those toy shops, you can try to check with TFM or Gactvision. They are also a very reliable supplier. As for my experience, both of them are more specialize in PVC figurine. They provide good services and fast delivery.

Regarding XL-Shop:

Good:~
~ Sell variety of figures
~ Reasonable price

Bad:~
~ Fast "sold out" for hot items (ship in low quantity?)
~ For Online Ordering : Always receive dented box and sometimes they send you wrong items, when u call them back they'll ask u to wait for another batch if you wanna exchange or may even ask you to choose another product
~ If you ship in a lot of stuffs at a time, their packaging technique may not be able to protect your stuffs if compared with E2046 which provide the best packaging thumbup.gif
~ Lack of staffs and workers, caused problems while handling online buyers : sometimes sent out double shipment/item which they'll send you the items u ordered 2 times but u just pay for one ea (happened to my friends' order which caused XL-Shop rugi a bit since he don't wanna send it back to XL) , slow at packaging and sending out items after the things has arrived

Have u guys experienced the same as me?

I have not seen how Shioktoys pack their stuff but their price are usually lower than XL & also offer free domestic shippings. One thing for cheaper price is you get the items much slower than XL, sometimes 2-3 weeks after XL got their stocks.

One plus thing is they require much less deposit while XL require full payment for online orders...

Yes, their online service is not so good. Their mail service box always full might not even works. Some of the figure, they can't put it coz of too sexy or unconfirmed quantity stock they will get. Their HQ only got around 4-5 person working. How i know this? Coz my house is very near to their HQ. Always be the 1st customer to get latest stuff once they posted up on their forum. lol
