Time Machine...experience a bad treatment before. The aunty tell me cant touch gundam box, just "look and see"...how i decide to buy it without have a clear view about it and touch the box. For my experience, the aunty and uncle who jaga this shop is familiar with gundam, but not other thing in the shop. The boss of this shop...aiks, i ask the boss one nendoroid detail and price through his msn messenger, but he no reply my message even i ask him twice time. And before that, i had personally phone call him and ask one nendoroid exclusive version, he reply me with an overprice that exceed market price even it is exclusive version...i no deal with him cos i can get more cheap from other place.

1 thing i dunlike is the auntie always keep saying his son purposely bring it over from japan, so what ?! even so ur stuff is still overprice, no need to repeatedly said the same thing.
Yes..the auntie keep say like this, and mention that the thing cant find anywhere alrdy...but i think his son go to japan just only go visit his fren or go play play only, not purposely go to search the toys, since in my experience he not very interested to run his toys business, just like doing part time.

Tm style is businessman style but not my favourite style. They have no clue for other thing/toy except gundam notworthy.gif

Hard to get diskaun from Tm even at one time i spend rm300+ in a single receipt. And also for XL BTS, one time i spend rm779, ask for diskaun but get nothing except the 38 point sticker, then i ask for one more sticker(cos 779 very near to 780), but also cant get it.

It is true that yen conversion is great...but the REAL cost for the shop to import the toys sometime lower than the regular yen price (cos at before i curi curi hear the conversation of other toy shop owner with his staff). Malaysia toy shop usually sell with price higer than the regular yen price, not like those toys shop at japan can give 10-20% diskaun of regular yen price to the customer.

Actually I've gotten this treatment before also.

I was also thoroughly amused when the Aunty said IIRC the MG Unicorn was LIMITED edition and won't come out again anytime soon. Buy nao or regret  laugh.gif
gundam limited version usually are the transparent version and metalic coating version which will sell at the gundam festival...just like u can buy gundam exia 1/144 metalic coating/transparent or RX78 OYW (i not sure what the version name for RX78) at sungai wang gundam expo months ago. MG Unicorn is the ver.ka, same as the MG Sinanju. Dont trust the yellow color star sticker paste at cover of the gundam box, it stated limited version but actually not the limited version(i wonder the sticker pasted by local shop or littak), it just include some common tools to assembly the gundam model.

Once i was in TM, and there's another Caucasian man, dress business-like and looked like he's in a business trip, in the shop. He was telling the aunty he's looking for a gift for his 5 or 6 year-old son back home, some "robot", preferably need some building . Clearly he knew nothing about toys or model, so he's expecting the shopkeeper to recommend him something. And the shop keeper was actually trying to sell a box of PG Strike! I was shocked!

ok, i would like to assume the shopkeeper knows nothing about gunpla model, and she didnt know a PG Strike is not something a 5-year-old could handle, benefit of doubt. so i suggest either try to upgrade the shopkeeper's knowledge about the product, or it'll be easily being interpreted as being unethical in doing business.

just my two cents worth.
*
seem like the shopkeeper recommend the items according to the price sweat.gif
An adult who never assembly gundam model also not recommend for PG, and need start to train the skill from NG or MG...In my thought, the shopkeeper mention of "cant find anywhere already" or "last piece" or "get it fast or u will regret" already can view as unethical in doing business...whistling.gif

So next time please do abit of homework before you go hunting.

At least have some idea on the price and availability. I hardly hear Gundam sold out unless it's really limited version.

The aunty got skills, this is what makes a sales man that sells. I think enough commenting on the same shops with the same commets? What about the other shops?

How come nobody talk about departmental stores?
*
so far i didn't face attitude problem like TM from other shop and that is the worst treatment if include Sillyfool words(and if he is true TM ppl). And for the aunty promote skill, i hope she is not continue to give wrong information to the customer and at least know what are the toys that the shop selling.

ok...let me give comment on other departmental stores...XL. Their states of item availability at the shop website are quite not reliable although their price changes update very fast biggrin.gif . At before i order miku nendoroid from a melaka shop which order directly from XL. Then after i get my first issue miku nendoroid at early of year 2008, i found that a defect on the nendoroid which less an eyebrow at one of the face. So i returned the nendoroid to the shop and wait for replacement. I wait for 1st re-issue arrive at July 2008, but melaka toy shop inform me no stock. Then i wait for 2nd re-issue of the nendoroid at mid of dec 2008, also been inform no stock. shocking.gif I disappointed and dont know whether the melaka toy shop or XL got the problem of communication...

And early before the 2nd re-issue nendoroid arrive, XL website already stated that sold out until now. But i found two lowyat forumer can buy the miku nendoroid at XL midvalley and Berjaya timesquare by this month, and one of them also can buy Rin Kagamine nendoroid which state sold out at website. Of course both of forumer not the one who make preorder at early, they just pass by and dont know XL still got sell miku nendoroid and rin nendoroid...

You can check the thread at below...comment of alexision and PatPatPat can prove them. Look like i have to get the miku at other shop with higher price, cos miku nendoroid already hard to find now except you want buy the pirated version =.=

And another thing...XL shop website also no post the information of japanese magazine which they did bring in and sell.

Also, some items XL bring in can't be POed from their website. Those items usually are items that XL bring in in a very small quantity, and can be POed through their retail shop only IIRC.
Actually, you can always call XL branches to ask about the items availability
*
maybe their branches staff need to be train to update their items information to their website, it just a waste if they not fully utilize their website sweat.gif
I hate to call their branch one by one many times to ask items that state sold out...besides, if the item available, i still need to order through online because i stay far away from KL...hope they can improve their information update problem shakehead.gif

what i mean like the XL branch people can provide their items availability information to the guy who maintain the website...it is better than let the goods stuck in the shop and no people come to buy it. Too bad if website selling not XL priority...i bet the XL staff will feel annoying if i call them too many time for just to ask they got PO certain figure or still available or not, maybe they will tension when hear my voice tongue.gif

And i also not confidence enough that the branch staff will know what toys i looking for or they lazy to find then answer me no stock at all...except the lady at ampang, i trust her. Last time i go ampang main shop, there are two lady in the shop, one is for sure the lady i just mention, another is normal staff. Then the lady go out, i take up one set of ToHeart 2 gashapon in the shop and ask the normal staff that is it variation set or not. The normal staff answer dont know and tell me to ask the lady..so i have to wait lady come back and ask her.

very true that gt is not the cheapest in town, but gt actually stabilize the price of gundam and many others japan toy which the yen is stated on the box itself. before i discover this shop, i am paying actually 25% - 35% more for every japan toy being purchase else where. imagine paying that extra until today! . i mean i don't mind lah, paying more, but why should i pay more? for customer service? for a nice attitude of shop owner? you got to be kidding, i am not those stupid people that fight with their own money just for customer service and attitude.
yes...i hate the Yen to RM conversion that go up and down and not stable. Indeed some toy shop will rise their price very quickly when Yen to RM conversion go up, not matter it is in stock item or preorder items. I wonder will they lower their price too if conversion rate go down... sad.gif

haiz...just my experience on Melaka Teencom toyshop, their customer service are bad. I buy one toy at their shop at early of 2008 and found defect thus return to them for replacement. But wait until now(almost wait one year already), they found replacement but request me to pay more RM40 to get it (i already pay the original price). I thought the toy defect is not my responsibility and i no need to pay more for the replacement, so i take back my money that pay at early. After that i know the replacement had offer to another guy who looking for it with same price + extra. Just a waste of time for me to be dumb to wait for the replacement, i could get better offer during that period rclxub.gif

I don't know where to put this question, but i guess this is a good place to start.
I've just pre-ordered something from xl-shop for a set amount of price a few weeks ago, today i went to look at the site and saw that the item that i've pre-order has increased by RM 20. So my question is, will i be forced to pay the extra RM 20 when the item arrives.

*i know there's an option to call them, but i just want views from ppl who've dealt with xl-shop before.*
*
actually u should ask this question at Buying Toys/Model Kits Online thread or General enquiries thread...

for your question, u no need to pay RM20. u should get the preorder price from them..just keep your preorder receipt or online preorder receipt carefully...

Regarding XL-Shop:

Good:~
~ Sell variety of figures
~ Reasonable price

Bad:~
~ Fast "sold out" for hot items (ship in low quantity?)
~ For Online Ordering : Always receive dented box and sometimes they send you wrong items, when u call them back they'll ask u to wait for another batch if you wanna exchange or may even ask you to choose another product
~ If you ship in a lot of stuffs at a time, their packaging technique may not be able to protect your stuffs if compared with E2046 which provide the best packaging  thumbup.gif
~ Lack of staffs and workers, caused problems while handling online buyers : sometimes sent out double shipment/item which they'll send you the items u ordered 2 times but u just pay for one ea (happened to my friends' order which caused XL-Shop rugi a bit since he don't wanna send it back to XL) , slow at packaging and sending out items after the things has arrived

Have u guys experienced the same as me?
*
yup their online ordering are not good...sometime send enquiry but nvr get reply. Some figure, magazine preorder they no put at their website, so i send online enquiry, still no reply. Some item stock quantity at their website also not up to date. I wondering how to order those item which no put at the website...hate phone call as somethg cannot explain well through phone.
