I believe that was the promotion when MBB first launched the Plat CC which was limited to the first 10K per-approved customer smile.gif

@RockIron,
I think PB will offer U a CC if U put some $ in their bank; invest in one of their products or perhaps just take up a car loan or bank loan from them tongue.gif

Most friends of mine who holds PB CC's were given their CCs based on their existing bank loan.  Mom's been banking with PB for ages but she's never bothered requesting for a CC so am not quite sure how the procedure is.

Hi tinkerbel,
I do know but they just offer classic & gold which i not interested.
Just want their plat cards to add in my collection.

Dun b lik dat, i spent with their Amex gold very heavy.(bcoz double treat points)
Oso i m MBB existing Visa & MC plat holder.
Maybe this is the reason they offer me?????
But something i not happy is this Amex plat combined CL with all MBB cards. sad.gif

Well, you can always convert to their Plat Charge card, then no need worry about inadequate CL tongue.gif

I think the banks have become stricter with cc application. I remember someone here saying (citing inside sources) that from next year it will be harder to apply for cc.

My friend who earns way more than me went to 2 banks recently and both ask for bank statements. One is RHB, the other is CIMB. When I applied a few months back they only ask for my salary slip. And I thought CIMB cc is the easiest to get. He actually applied for CIMB about 2 weeks ago. He went to check on the status by going directly to the bank and they asked for his statement. sweat.gif

@pingping86,
Merchants normally look at a minimum transaction before they allow CC transactions; that could be the case with 7-11. Or, perhaps 7-11 operates on cash only basis? wink.gif

Hmmm anyone got a call from people saying they'r from CIMB bank offering credit card protection like insurance, card protection premier. I told to the person that i need to check first about this.

I checked from CIMB website got stated about this, but the company that managing it isn't CIMB, it's Card Protection Plan Limited. Care to share about this? Advisable or not to use this and why they are offering it and not the banks?

@PleaseEnterYourName,
Insurance co ties up with Banks to offer such scheme. With such scheme U will need to pay a monthly subscription/premium of RMX.

The caller declared she from CIMB... so it's supposed to be from this Card Protection Plan Limited... and they have rights on our information....

It's yearly plan, RM98 for all cards.

Nothing is impossible, maybe u should start with their Amex gold.
Charge everything on it, 2x treat points.
After they know ur spending pattern, they will issue u plat card too.
Anyway wish u good luck..... biggrin.gif

The more you spend, the more likely they will issue gold/plat or CL ?

I normally spend quite a lot, but does not pay full every month ... never late payment though

Hi J'Daniel
For my experiance i think u should settle all the outstanding balance.
Spend and pay in full every month for at least 1 year. They will offer u both card and CL upgrade.

spending is so so only... prompt payment, after 1 year upgrade to "gold" and not long tht, they send me pre-approved Air Asia MC to me.

the more u eager to get, the desperate u will be getting... so the same old advise, let them come to you.

no point customer go to bank ma...

@RockIron,
I believe I'm a pretty 'big' spender with Citibank. I also clear my bills promptly and in full. However, I've never been offered a credit increase nor have I ever got my annual fees waived (without having to request for it!).

It is for those reasons and many others I've decided to stop using Citibank as my primary card. Well, I hate to say it but it still is sort off my primary card; at least until Amex / MBB allows me to make online bill payments using my Amex CC! *siGh*
