My guess right then.

BTW ... I heard AffinBank's CS is only accessible during normal business hours. They are available 24 hours only for cases where you lost your card and need to block/cancel card. Anyone who holds this card can confirm this information ?

Yeah .. it was very much appreciated. I find it annoying that banks keep their clients credit rating secret even from the owner of the information itself ! mad.gif At least we are entitled to our own information right ?

I understand the information can be misued but it can also be used to educate the public on credit worthiness. At least they won't be so quick to create a new debt. Just today, my neighbour got into trouble coz his friend defaulted on his housing loan, he knew coz the banks started to get tight on him - finding it out the hard way. At least banks should have the courtesy to tell him that he will be penalised (credit wise) for someone else action (not his fault). He can take action to sort things out with his friend.

It's unfortunate if an innocent party gets penalised. blush.gif Good action on your part.

Just one question Guru's

can someone do an online transaction just by using our 16 digit number in front of our card? i mean without our security number. Is it possible?

Not really .... 99.9 % of the sites will also ask for the expiry date for the card. I believe they will need at least 3 items from the following cc digit, CVV, expiry date and name on card.

Just the 16 digit number ? Unlikely .... but be careful with a little bit of social enginnering tricks, you can be conned to reveal the rest of the information. (e.g The Mastercard/VISA center scam to so called verify your cc)

well, you have to take note, banking industry wouldn't really want to educate people about having prudent saving or financial control, or else, they would have been out of business since long time ago!

No new debt, means no business and profit for bank!

Banking industry, need have been profitable business due to those new and old debt, accumulating interest from the debt and get more $$$

Anyone practice to make payment on the billing cycle date itself ?

I always do that. But it reminds me of something now ...
Normally I pay on the billing cycle date, and I will ignore the statement bill.

I afraid if I make certain amount on the cut off date itself, then maybe the system is slow or what ... it capture late.

Since if I paid on cut off date and system slow, and I ignore the bills ... that would cause me lots of late payment already

Hope someone can clarify this

No one will pick up the call after 6.00pm no matter u call Kuching nor KL.
No matter what CS line(including Platinum/Infinite), no one will answer as well. doh.gif
If for lost card case, call 03-20310020(RHB aunthorization centre), the authorizer will help u to block the lost cc.

My cut-off date is 18th. Payment date 7th. Normally I check on 19th-20th. What I notice is, any amount posted after 18th, will be in next month bill payment.

e.g.
#1 swipe RM100 on 18th Jan (transact), posted (18th Jan). I have to pay on 7th Feb

#2 swipe Rm100 on 18th Jan (transact), posted (19th Jan). Bill comes on 18th Feb, Pay on 7th Mar

In this way, if you have different cards with different cut-off dates, you can work on extending the credit that the bank offer you rolleyes.gif

@RockIron,
Er.. I usually don't exceed more than 50% of my available CL but I made some rather heavy purchases the last few months hence I used up my total available CL on Amex.

On another note, I just checked.. Citibank gave me an additional RM20k credit line with my renewed CC - weird and crazy bank.  When I wanted it they don't give it to me, when I don't need it, they give it to me !

Um.. that's what banks do, they lend you an umbrella when it isn't raining, and take it back when it does smile.gif

RHB's CS lines are now 24 hours, confirmed. And they do pick up calls, though a little slow at times and will definitely call you back if you leave a message after the tune for plat & infinite members. Maybe you verify with them? Btw the infinite got different number than plat. Cheers tongue.gif

just got annoying call from MBF. I've cancelled the card few days ago. They insist me to keep the card and mention that I can't cancel because I have paid the renewal fee before. She said there is no way for me to cancel the card. They want to send new card to my home until I scold her that I will ask BNM whether I can cancel or not the card.

They offer me 2 cash vouchers if I keep the card until another 8 months. but I'm not happy with MBF so I will not take anything.
