Thanks kherel, I got it.

Do you know if golf club shafts and grips (parts of the golf club) are under HS code 4203.21 (Specially designed for use in sports)?  I did a search for "clubs" and there another category 9506.31 (Clubs, complete) but this seems to refer to complete, assembled clubs.
*
TC# 4203.xx.xxxx is for apparel / clothing & accessories.

Club shafts or grips should under 9506.39.0000 which carry 10% SST.

What would be the tax imposed?
Any local runner who can handle the clearance process when reached our custom?
What is the tarrif type and code for vehicle spare part like the absorber?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what is the SOP for Kastam on taxable item for personal usage? Im from Sabah and it always pisses me off when i am forced to appoint a third party to declare the item on my behalf. At the end of the day, i have to pay this "agent fee" plus the tax which amount to a few hundred ringgit. Is the paying of "agent fee" a norm of is there something shady going on here?

Thank you.

Thanks very much kherel!

Do you also know if Customs / Pos Malaysia charge SST on imported packages costing less than RM500?

Duties/Taxes is charged by & paid to Customs, not Pos Malaysia. Pos Malaysia or courier only act to declare & pay the duties/taxes on your behalf. They will claim back from you prior to delivery.
Regarding exemption for CIF value under RM500, yes...but must declared in K1 Form to get the exemption. For big name in courier like DHL/Fedex, they get auto exemption for this type of shipment & no need to do declaration.

Declaration is done on entry point of importation (airport gateway). You must inform Pos Malaysia to do the declaration as per your request before it's done.
When you pick it up at Pos Malaysia, it's already wayyy too late.

Oversea seller > courier pickup > export clearance > transit > import clearance > courier delivery > buyer.

Any idea how I can ask Pos Malaysia to do the declaration?

Or do I get the K1 Form from Pos Malaysia, fill it up and return it to them before the package arrives?

Thanks again, your info is very helpful.

Hi can anyone help me confirm this. I got different answers from different people. The officer at custom hold 2 of my packages because both add up more than 500. Each is around rm400. They have different shipping code and each have their own declaration form. The officer said that if they reach together then it's considered as 1 shipment so they have to add it together. I call up custom but they say the 500 limit is for each package. So who is right? Thanks

General questions... What does it mean by "Held by custom (import)" status? How long does it take for the item to cleared or detained by them? If detained, how long do they detained it before returned to sender if nobody come to claimed it? Just worry I don't receive any notification from them... Sorry if this is incorrect thread to ask
