I DISLIKE THE RUMOR!

i agreed dalton was ok as a bond during that era and but he was portrayed as too serious and lack of humor.
i tot this was the reason that he was criticised and left.

true. timothy dalton did get criticized. but he wasn't supposed to leave the franchise after a third bond film. i believe the reason he left is because he got fed up with the long legal disputes that took place during that time and delayed the production of goldeneye for years

probably the critics that slammed dalton at the time were already comfortable and accustomed to the humoristic bond moore portrayed. it's pretty understandable considering moore played bond in 7 films in a row from 1973 to 1985. that's quite a long time

then again, it is simply ironic bcoz the bond portrayal dalton got critized is pretty much the same that the producers now are praising daniel craig for. if dalton took bond to the edge, then craig only just a tad beyond that

Me likey this new Bond girl

Sean Connery = cool, humorous, suave, playboy

George Lazenby = trying to imitate Sean Connery (personally I felt he smiled too much in that movie)

Roger Moore = cool, corny and humorous, relaxed, playboy

Timothy Dalton = dark, vengeful, too serious

Pierce Brosnan = cool, humorous, suave, playboy

Daniel Craig = cool, serious, suave

Sean Connery will always deemed to be the best as he is the first James Bond.

George Lazenby just imitated Sean Connery. Nothing special about him.

Roger Moore made James Bond movie as something more entertaining and appealing to all ages. Well, I have to admit he made James Bond looks very corny and playboyish.

Timothy Dalton's James Bond is just too serious and dark. Licence To Kill is just very similar to Quantum of Solace - revenge, revenge and revenege.

Pierce Brosnan brought back the humour in James Bond after Timothy Dalton portrayed James Bond as someone too serious.

Daniel Craig instead brought back the Timothy's character of a serious James Bond, who lacks humour.

I hope the next movie will see more humour.

My favourite James Bond would be either Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan.

What do you think of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (OHMSS) ?

IMO OHMSS was such a wasted potential, if Connery was in it it would probably be the best Bond movie ever.
It has great plot, great soundtrack and great action sequence, the only thing bad about the film was the Bond actor himself, but I don't blame Lazenby since he wasn't an actor in the first place, iinm he was a model..I blame Connery for refusing to be in it

Nevertheless, OHMSS is still one my top favourite Bond film..
if Connery was in it, I think it would be my favourite Bond film ever

Hmmm...I did not watch OHMSS fully. It was recently shown on Astro and I only watched a few minutes of it. Also, I only watched a few clips of OHMSS from youtube. So, I can't really comment much on the movie but I did observe the acting skills of George from that few clips.

On 1st impression, I can't say that I'm attracted to the movie yet, though I'm interested to know how will Ben Shaw be in the shoes of young Q, bond's cutting-edge tech. advisor, except when it comes to his lunch (GoldenEye). It's unfair to judge based on this 2nd trailer, so well see how it goes.

I AM TOTALLY DIGGING THE NEW Q! Nerdy haha just as Q shud be I hope Skyfall will have the usual playful banter between Bond & Q.

Instead of 13 bottles, Ben Shaw looks like he (Grenouille) had collected a briefcase of perfumes and is about to demonstrate its power to Bond. Haha. Jokes aside, he looks alright in this image.
