What do you need that for? You know that otaku don't draw.

Illume OS is based on Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 “Squeeze”. It features the IceWM window manager. Applications included are – the Midori web browser, AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet program, Exaile audio player, MPlayer media player, Xzgv image viewer, Leafpad text editor, Evince PDF Reader, Thunar file manager, GIMP Image Editor, and so on... Thanks to Wine, you could run your Windows programs on Illume OS, plus, with the Windows Wireless Drivers manager, you could install Windows wireless drivers at anytime. It's fantastic to run on old machines which you plan to throw out (save the environment, stop flinging your computers out of the window). The name “Illume” means light up.

With enough obsessive interest, it is not surprising that one can lift a pen and doodle decent things from it. And... uh, my experience with some natives (guess where) proves a lot otherwise whistling.gif

Well, maybe someone needs to create a distro called ArtLinux or something, where it fulfills certain user groups' digital art needs...

From website and review, Otaku base from Ubuntu, remove Gnome, then install KDE4. Same like NetRunner. The result is Ubuntu remaster full with unused Gnome orphan here and there.

On a side note, Linux Mint KDE dev have trouble making kubuntu Mint remaster.

It's not like purging all Gnome packages, but it's more like you're are building it from scratch, installing all the packages that you need using Ubuntu's packages (or you can use your own packages). You can look at Ubuntu Documentation: Live CD Customization From Scratch. From there you wil know that you need to list all the packages that you really need, or you will end up with Ubuntu remix with some packages that are not there. Eg: forgot installing ALSA will cause your remix failed to produce sound.

go for simpleLinux Distro! LOL

p/s: mirror updated once more:
http://mirror.simplelinux.my

---

BTW: YuZE also wanna came out.... the next malaysian linux distro ^^
http://sourceforge.net/projects/yuzebeta1/

but created in SuseStudio... :|

so.. if you want an independent distro, which provides it's own repo (not lying on these massive distro) then go for simpleLinux ! if you want it to run on 128/256 Meg of ram [with some swap to run smoothly of course, but no need actually] and 233 MHz processor... I dare you to try simpleLinux! I tried it on Intel Pentium 2 MMX ^^

debian testing branch + kernel 3.0.4 + kde4.7.1 + lxde and so on

debian live gnome iso is 1.1Gb
