The 10NSD doesn't rattle my 'thing'
The boom boom kapoww of 10NSD does not vibrate the sofa and not heart pounding. 10R does that |

Tun,
The rattling is normally associated with mid-bass. Some subs are tuned to have a peak at this range. And it just loses its balances upon diving below 30Hz. Most high end sub and well-made sub have a flat tone. This will seams beautifully with your speakers. Anyway, like mys_terious said no right or wrong. It's a matter of personal preference. I like a sub with flat curve. Easy to integrate and when it comes, it REALLY hit you. If free, come over and you ll know what I am saying. arremie, you went after he calibrates his sub? |

QUOTE(mys_terious @ Jul 2 2009, 07:31 AM) correct attitude la bro.. there is no right or wrong.. if u like it get it.. if u dont like it dont buy Agreed with u there. I prefer 10R over 10NSD but that doesn't mean 10R is better than 10NSD or vice versa. Each to its own Added on July 2, 2009, 9:27 am QUOTE(htkaki @ Jul 2 2009, 09:21 AM) Not yet bro. That's why I don't pass any definite judgment just yet. I'm waiting for a few DVD from Amazon then I go to his crib again n see. He said its better now and I hope it is. Anyway I still got the feeling it will not be my cup of tea This post has been edited by arremie: Jul 2 2009, 09:27 AM |

QUOTE(htkaki @ Jul 2 2009, 09:21 AM) Tun, this type of peak some sub manufacturer intentional tune in to make their sub sound more powerful to hide their sub's weakness. The end result is user would normally have a turn the volume level down when listen to music as this peak will sound too loud for music. The rattling is normally associated with mid-bass. But you do some how feel that it's not working sometimes, but when it does .. it really DO! I'm very happy with it and would probably go for a 12", but one thing for sure, it's VERY BALANCED and blends in with any speakers. QUOTE(arremie @ Jul 2 2009, 09:23 AM) Agreed with u there. I wont say it's a weakness, Some speakers are Bright and some are just Harder on the Bass. It's just different and to cater for different taste.Oh yea, I use the same volume for Movies and Music. To me, its a weakness because it is boosting bass that is not suppose to be there. What we need is real bass, not loud bass. If its there, then blow me away...but if its not there, don't boost it to just to make me feel good about my sub. From what I experience with the SVS, is that it's pretty real. If there is an artificial peak in the midbass then not so good. But what if it is flat to 30 Hz then rolls off sharply after that? I wonder how such a sub would sound like. |

I wonder how such a sub would sound like. |
