Current Velo owners and soon-to-be SVS owners: robinlim kiam not sure what sub is chinmh is using. megatron007 Me soon, to PC12-NSD.

QUOTE(jchong @ Jun 19 2009, 11:37 AM) You're using Velo SPL now right? Shouldn't the upgrade path be to at least the PC12+. I thought the NSD series would lose to your SPL. How about 2 pieces of NSD on each corner of the room? Try first. I think my room is too small for PC-12+, but later who knows. Pieces 2 Weight 54.4 K 18-Jun-2009 0555 2 Arrived Chicago/O~hare Airport, IL, US 18-Jun-2009 0045 2 Departed Cleveland, OH, US 17-Jun-2009 2226 2 Scanned Cleveland, OH, US 17-Jun-2009 1549 2 Shipment Labeled Cleveland, OH, US 17-Jun-2009 2 Youngstown, OH They are on the way, hope to received them sometime next week. Htkaki say I may received them on monday?? This post has been edited by jwyj: Jun 19 2009, 12:38 PM

QUOTE(htkaki @ Jun 28 2009, 10:53 PM) jwyj must be enjoying his 2 PC-12NSD in his HT room. No posting from him. I think the only option is to use courier service to do ship it to Miri albiet a little more expensive in order to get it quick since BAX won't be doing it. No news, no telephone call from them. Tracking says delivered to KL. I'm not sure what to do.

QUOTE(htkaki @ Jun 29 2009, 04:07 PM) I thought that's BAX's mistake and they are going to send to you. No? Just received an email from Erik. He is pushing DB Schenker to honor the quotes and hope to resolve tomorrow. On my side, I'm not doing nothing. I request them to send to Miri. Money can sort out later.

I did some testing using this part of the transformer 1 movie - Bring the RainTwo SVS pc12-NSD vs 1 Velo SPL1200. (Sorry about the T-shirt, forgot to take away) Conclusion is that the SVS can go really low. I would prefer if it is a sealed box. Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(jchong @ Jul 2 2009, 08:11 PM) Why? Is it because sealed box sounds cleaner? Is the PC-12NSD designed to operate as 'sealed' by plugging the port? I thought only the plus and ultra models have port tuning feature. Yes, the SPL is cleaner, less rumbling.. and yes too.. NSD does not have tuning feature. Maybe I can diy 2 pieces of cylindrical foam or even better ask htkaki to give me 2 pieces from his PC12+. Added on July 2, 2009, 10:32 pmQUOTE(kiam @ Jul 2 2009, 08:13 PM) jwyj, congratulation on the sub's arrival and without extra charges. great that you share some pic of the sub. Can't help but think a dual cylinder will augment the floorstander nicely Exactly, I was thinking of the same idea, putting it behind the floorstander. That's why I got the 2 lengths of 5M and 8M sub cables. But now I think it might be too boomy. Basically wall on 4 sides. This post has been edited by jwyj: Jul 2 2009, 10:32 PM

QUOTE(megatron007 @ Jul 2 2009, 10:40 PM) great stuffs !!! love to you make this happen-ed but if like ahpinkor pinkor keep on email-ing ppl might get annoying and not reply We can just go to the web and click buy, after a few days when they sent out, the delivery cost will be charged to our credit card. No problem there, except that we don't know in advance how much it is. We can hope that it is USD315? Or maybe USD410?? Or even worst USD590??? Like gambling. Are you a risk taker, bro? QUOTE(lightning69 @ Jul 3 2009, 02:57 PM) Still no reply from SVS after 1 weeks and 3 emails. Getting tired of waiting. Why don't you just buy it direct from svs? They will charge the delivery cost to your credit card. How many are you buying? 3, 4, 5. The more the cheaper.

htkaki, don't forget to wear your svs t-shirt when you meet him. I received this mail from Ron. Well in theory I'm either helping move equipment and setting up the SVS gear (just because I'm SVS President and CEO does NOT mean I'm afraid to get my hands dirty), working out in the gym or jogging (say, KEC has it all handled and doesn't need Stimpson screwing things up ;^) or getting drunk on the hotel club level.
I do find it hard to do all three at one time so I'll split the day up. I'm at Peninsula Excelsior Hotel across the street, please drop me a note if you would like to have a drink on Saturday. I've promised I'd spend time with KEC helping so catch me after that or my workout and the beer is on me j.
SVS only has a few days on the ground and it's my duty to glean every bit of info I can from both delighted and disappointed customers (we like to think the first group is always much larger than the second, but both are important). That only happens in part on e-mail. The rest is face to face, with SVS gear or competitive products and with us listening intently to ideas from you on how to serve your market best now, and as we continue to grow. We've averaged 30% growth a year for 10 years, but honestly we are just completing our first act as a new force in the audio industry. We have talented engineers, driven product managers and a team that simply refuses to accept being "second best". Of course we have to make money, but ultimately it is ALL about delivering the products customers are demanding, and no one can help us make those right choices better than you (and folks like you, hundreds in Singapore alone).
Hunt me down on Saturday after breakfast/workout and I can at least let you know how much time KEC expects out of me with the ton of gear we just sent them (and if there is a God, it will all arrive in a few days).
Day or night, we are switched on to customers, I've been out till 3AM debating amplifier technology pricing and features with Taiwan customers (the customer is always right!). I don't intend to slow down till I get on the plane j, so hit me up as soon as you can (though I won't be in till late Fri night, so have some mercy on Sat AM ;^)
Ron SVSAnyone from kuching, Sarawak wanting to visit Singapore on 17th to 18th, for 1 night? Airasia price really cheap. I'm looking for a companion. We can spend whole night shopping and rest in his hotel on saturday afternoon. This post has been edited by jwyj: Jul 6 2009, 04:35 PM
