^ Should answer your questions and push you into the right direction. According to that, it can play almost any game at MAX settings. So yeah... if you have more money, go get the Alienware MX-17, the one with DUAL HD5870M. Now that one is gonna blow your cute little socks off.

Lol... from laptop, you guys went into GPU discussion. Anyways, just heard back from Mucro that they sent my laptop back on Friday. Probably gonna have it back on Monday. sad.gif

As for the gpu discussion, never heard of ATi getting their drivers to burn your GPU. Then again, who knows, in the future, could be a different story. laugh.gif They release a new driver every month, unlike nVidia which has no timeframe and they release the drivers whenever they want.

I find that nVidia's drivers are not that good as they have so many different drivers and you have to test many to find which is good with your system but then again, its good coz it gives the flexibility to change to a different driver when the one you're using is not working well or has some serious problems.

asus G73 or NP8690 ??
the price almost the same >.<

NP8690. I believe that it has superior cooling compared to the G73. Although it's more bulky and a heavier. Very worth it.

If Malaysia's economy and currency was better, we would not have any problems in upgrading and changing laptops/desktops/gadgets when we want. As for now, we have to be "rich".

Btw, how the temp for ic7?
*
Thanks man. The box will be sent back next week. IC7's temp... quite ok la. So far the highest I've got for GPU is 90 after trying out BFBC2 at max settings but without AA. CPU... broke to low 70's in the games and benchmarks. sad.gif Should I take a look under the hood to see how they apply the paste?

Sonic Spyro, do you notice if your fans get louder after changing to HD5870?
I emailed mucro about my fans noise, they told me it's normal with laptop fitted with HD5870.
*
My fans are quite quiet. I'm surprised. Didn't sound like yours tho. @_@

maybe sager need a better design to push out the heat produce by newer gpu
*
Could be because the heatsink doesn't really connect with the GPU. Maybe that's why my temps got that high. Maybe I could try the bending thingy that NBR people posted.

why the heck the heatsink is not connected with the GPU itself?? blink.gif

Just tested the thing about Nvidia's heatsink sitting properly on the GPU, it's true. There's no overflow of heatsink as compared to the HD 5870. Guess I'd have to mod the can. ~_~

I'm thinking of buying a laptop from Mucro Asia,so my questions, I heard that a shop in lowyat plaza can manage the warranty..so,what is the name of the shop in lowyat plaza that can manage the warranty issue? is mucro asia reliable? i mean this is my first time of buying such item thro' the net. Have anyone bought their laptop from mucro asia?? any comments?
*
Warranty shop, from previous posts of Mucro, is handled by Vital Computers. Technically, they don't really handle the warranty issues but if any problems with the laptops, when your warranty runs out, that shop can take care of your laptop for you.

Mucro Asia is reliable. They order the laptops from the official Sager resellers (as Sager does not have a physical store, they only deal with online orders) and sends them to you via the shipping method that you specified (there are a few and the fastest is TNT Shipping which costs RM205 [1-3 days delivery]).

There are a many who post here regularly have bought from Mucro Asia, including me. The thing I notice is that Mucro tests out your laptop before sending it to you to make sure that it is in proper working order (I could be wrong but I'm judging this from my experience when I first got my laptop it was installed with Windows 7 64-bit named mucro). You can pay them via online bank transfer to their Maybank account. Mucro also handles upgrades that you want to do on your laptop, like what I did the last few weeks was upgrade my GPU to the HD5870 from a GTX 280M. One thing you need to note though, sometimes they don't answer your first email but when you email them a 2nd time, they'll reply you as fast as lightning. laugh.gif

Overall, you can trust them to get your laptop to you and be sure that it's in proper working order (although there are some rare cases where the screen has 1 or more dead pixel but this, you can simply email them and send it back to them to get it changed).

I promise you, you will not regret buying a Sager laptop. There are very few laptop. Once you go Sager, you'll never look at other brands again. Trust me on this. If there's any other points that I've missed, hope the others can add-in. biggrin.gif

Hi anyone knows what's the price of NP8960 INCLUDING shipping fees ?
*
Click this:
http://www.mucro.asia/index.php?/vmchk/Muc...ger-NP8690.html
Then:
Change the Currency to RM on the left side of the screen.
Then:
Configure to what you want.
Then:
Click add to Cart and go to Cart and check your total.
Then:
Add shipping price (RM 205 for TNT 1 ~ 3 day shipping).

That's your price.

awesome, cheers mate !

Would you recommend anything other than TNT ? I'm quite worried about the other non-insured shippings.  sweat.gif
*
TNT? Not insured? It's a logistics company. Your laptop is INSURED. Plus, it's the fastest delivery method there is. 3 days as compared to the other methods which may take longer, like post laju... 3 weeks if I'm not mistaken. So yeah, if you do order, I recommend you get the TNT shipping option. It's safe, fast, and straight to your doorstep.

ah no no you misunderstood my point, what I was trying to say is other than TNT ( which is insured ), would you recommend me trying other non-insured shippers lol.

But yea I guess it's a no brainer to not spend a little bit more to ensure that you product is safe tongue.gif. Plus you get to lay your hands on it sooner.

Thanks for your time bro, appreciate it.

Haha.... Picture your laptop, all nicely packed into its box from the US but when it arrived to you, it looks like it's been through a blender or at least under a steamroller. biggrin.gif

Good luck.

Guess they all vote for against it because of our posts in the thread regarding Sager. laugh.gif Jealous people who don't know crap about them calling it fanboyism. XD If it's true, why would we not state it.
