GPU is around 49c to 53c like that, full load maximum 82c, hardly reach full load when the fan is full speed.

i dont have the picture of the temperature reading, only got benchmark results with the temperature.
*
Oh. Okay then. Guess it's normal for us to get temps like those. XD

most of the laptop also get the same idle temp, what important is the temp of GPU under constant full load brows.gif
*
Guess it's because of where we live too. Our temps are kinda high compared to other places. Oh well, nothing we can do about that, unless we live in a freezer. LoL! My max temp at load for GPU (2 hours of GTA IV) is 79 degrees. For CPU, 82 on one core and the rest are below 80 (Any idea why this happens?). biggrin.gif Gotta love Sager's cooling system. I think when I repaste, I'll see a bit of a reduction, hopefully.

the minimum temperature is not correct since i run this software halfway during my gaming.
*
Your HDD is very hot! O_O Other than that, max temp for CPU after few hours of gaming... that's just awesome. biggrin.gif

Hello, I just bought a NP8690 from mucro.asia but it stuck at clearance process since yesterday morning. Is this normal? And it take how long to complete the process?
*
It's normal. Took about a day and a half to get cleared. No need to worry. It'll pass through without problems.

Just asking, if I order from xoticpc.com, will Mucro Asia handle the warranty? Or will I have to order from MA?
*
Xoticpc and MA have no ties whatsoever. Why would they handle each others warranties? I doubt you'd have much problems with these laptops. To make it easier, order from MA since they're based in SG. Closer and easier to claim for warranties.

Hi hi, I just finish installing OS and driver. I found out that my GPU running at 66C and CPU at 55C in idle. Is that normal?
*
Room temps? Your GPU seems a bit too hot... My CPU idles at that temp too. So I guess it's no big. Provide a screenshot of your temps and also try and get your ambient temps, if you can.

Hmmm.... to upgrade to the HD5870 or not to upgrade. That is the question. Overall cost... around RM 1.5k.

Card: 1070
IC7: 144
Labour: 120
Shipping: 200

XD Any comments?

I think this is not worth the upgrade for RM1.5k.
Although I didnt find any 5870m vs 280m benchmark but I found this...
285m vs 5870m
The 285m is a bit higher clock of 280m, 585MHz vs 576MHz, not by much.
As you can see in the benchmark, beside the vantage and DX11 game, the 285m and 5870m run neck to neck.

This is just my opinion. The choice is still yours. smile.gif

Congrats on getting your laptop and welcome to the club! biggrin.gif Once you post some benchmarks, I think I'll choose whether or not to upgrade to the HD5870. Please include the temps of the system. smile.gif

Sidenote:
Anyone can suggest me a good courier to send back my laptop with? Asked TNT and they quoted me RM 240. I also need one that has a packaging service because I threw out my box. XD

Your GPU heatsink sits perfectly on the core? Seems to be that way from your pics.

Where you send your laptop to? Mucro? How much they charge you?

Thats the good thing about Sager eh, can upgrade! Both CPU and GPU right?
*
Yeah, gotta send it back to them. RM 1.5k for the whole thing including shipping.

RM 1070 for GPU
RM 120 for Labour
RM 144 for IC7
RM 200 for Shipping

That's the best part about these Clevo's/Sagers, when you want to upgrade, you can and don't need to buy a new system. Also, you don't need to worry over your temps. biggrin.gif I did get a 95*C temp when I played Sim City Societies. I guess there was just too much going on on the screen at the time. XD

I wish I can get IC7 lol...

Added on April 9, 2010, 1:42 pmCan Order extra IC7 for me? So I can change it myself... Can?
*
Awesome! Thanks setoyo! biggrin.gif

As for the case of IC7, to quote Mucro.Asia:

"You are paying for the service, not the tube itself."

I really need to ask for that tube. ~_~

software - i'd say both equal, alienware might come with more software, but that doesn't mean it is good, who knows i might say sager utility software is better, their hotkey software dont take much of my resources and most importantly it wont minimize my games when i use the hotkey, unlike HP hotkey software, well i never use alienware before, so i cant say much about this.

hardware - +/- difference

new technology - not even your pendrive can support 3.0

pricing - sager win, reason is obvious

quality control - alienware and dell?! WHAT?! i side with sager for quality control

heating problem - you mean np8690 have overheat problem? LOL.... doh.gif

discount - who cares, if you got the budget already and you still want for more discount? gaming laptop at this price range is very cheap, go get a desktop if want better specs.
*
+1.

And... I've never heard of the term "overheating" on these Sagers, unless the user meddles with the heatsink or other crap.

And... No such thing as "free delivery". Look at Dell and that's what "free delivery" gets you.

No power outlet where you're staying? With such hardware, no laptop can last as long as that....

^Need convincing? Read that and a bunch of other posts in that forum under the Sager/Clevo section.

sager customers hardly get faulty unit, so the warranty doesn't really necessary tongue.gif

i wonder who want to change to other brand after using sager hmm.gif

if i wanna change another laptop, i will buy sager again for sure.
*
I agree with you 100% on this. I don't care if it's expensive. They have great build quality. That's the main point for me. smile.gif Hope my NP8690 will last till at least 3 years or until I'm very tempted to get a new laptop, which would probably be another Sager. Weight? Not a problem. Gives me extra exercise! biggrin.gif

@tanjq87,
Welcome to the club. Good job on picking out the IC7. You can do partial payment to them. It doesn't matter as long as you state your order number in your transaction details. biggrin.gif
