I tried a few M15x..i felt the keyboard seems like poor quality..or maybe it's just me
..though the m17x doesn't have that issue
Anyway, sager owner..wanna ask you regarding this question
from what i read from this thread..the HD5870 can get seriously hot and among the few reason would be the thermal paste?
was thinking to buy the IC Diamond 7 Carat from LYN forumer, BlueBean, since it's a lot more cheaper than what's being offered from sager
but wondering how to apply it..scared i mess up
The HD5870 can get a little hot but it's only because of our climate. The IC7 does help a lot in cooling the beast down. The max my new card reached is 82 degrees (2 hours of gaming on Battlefield + GTA IV) whereas my old GTX 280M maxed out at 78 with the same amount of gameplay and paste application. As for the application part, if you've done it on the desktop then it's the same as it is on these Sagers. Anyway, sager owner..wanna ask you regarding this question

One thing I've noticed is that the IC7 is a hard paste to spread as it's quite thick. Instead of the spread method, I used the rice grain method applied a lot of pressure with the heatsink before I screw the whole thing together. The back cover opens up directly to the crucial parts so it shouldn't be much of a problem locating them. Just remember to remove the fans before taking off the heatsink.
