To all the sifus in here,

I'll be heading to the UK in October this year and I'm planning to get this from Mucro asia , probably costs around 5.1 k including shipping =).

Will lag be an issue due to the bigger resolution as opposed to the conventional 16:9 ? Can my proc handle it  hmm.gif

and I don't know a single thing about the thermal paste mentioned above, will using a cooler rid me of this extra expenditure ?

p.s. asus g73 is one of my options ,but the weight really is an issue for me.

The max your screen can support is 1920x1080 at 16:9. I doubt you can go any higher. As for lag, if you're gaming, like GTA 4, your CPU is good enough to handle it and give good frame rates as the game is CPU intensive and not GPU intensive. For other games, the GPU is already in the high-end range which means that it can handle almost any game currently out there and maybe a few future ones. From my experience, with the GPU, it tends to get a little hot but it's normal (idle at 55 ~ 60 and max load at 78 ~ 82). If you're talking about watching HD movies, that beast can handle anything. biggrin.gif You won't have to worry much.

As for the thermal paste issue, it's quite easy to learn. Sometimes you can cool your laptop a lot more if the paste is applied correctly. If you don't want, the laptop itself is already good at dissipating heat while the cooler also helps as it directs air flow straight into the vents.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your purchase.

yaya the aspect ratio, sorry I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this. The default option is 15.6 inch HDplus/GT 16:9, I'm planning to get FHD WUXGA/GT. The difference lies in the HD part only is it ? nothing to do with the screen resolution or aspect ratio ? icon_question.gif

Thanks a lot for your information bro, was pondering about upgrading it to i7 but from what I see, my current spec should suffice  nod.gif.

As for the cooler, I guess any cooler will do the trick ? Shall get the thermal paste if it's really hot after I get it.

Don't mind me asking, what is your 8690's spec  brows.gif , and did you include any extended, dead pixel warranties when you bought it ? Bought it from mucroasia too ?

The stock screen has a lower resolution than the FHD. Better to go with the FHD screen to fully enjoy the power of the laptop.

Yeah, I did buy it from Mucro, back in February. Got it a week after CNY. You can see my spec in my sig. No. I didn't add any extra warranty. The dead pixel warranty would be a good choice tho but it costs an extra RM 3xx. So far, almost all the screens have been shipped without much/any dead pixel.

As for upgrading the proc, I'd suggest getting the 740QM or the 840QM as they're quite powerful, provided you have the budget for them.

As for warranty, like Mucro posted a page back, upgrade the official Sager/parts warranty as the parts are quite expensive. IF you want. But so far, not many people complaining that their laptops are failing, even after several years of use. That should give you an idea of the build quality of the Sagers. tongue.gif

to be honest though , you won't be able to notice the reso difference on a 15" screen. I've got both , and I would suggest getting the lower end screen ... and use the money on other parts smile.gif

But from what i heard ic7 diamond is quite difficult to apply. I wouldnt want to apply it wrongly and instead of cooling the laptop, I GSOD the GPU or CPU. ><

Lol.... Doubt that would happen.. Even with wrongly applied paste the laptop wouldn't give you much problems. When I applied the IC7 on my laptop, I just do the rice grain method on both CPU and GPU then apply a lot of pressure when replacing the heatsinks. tongue.gif

Been MIA for sometime due to busy with works but am glad to see that this thread still active. Not only active but more and more ppl getting to know the hidden power beside built to last of Sager's laptop. Just dropping by to say its been almost 2 years already since i bought my np9262 and it still works perfectly fine and still able to play the recent games at highest setting...Sager rocks...^^...

EDIT: Credit still goes to bro Corad for being the pioneer for such a good laptop brand in M'sia. Thanks bro. thumbup.gif

Don't think that's a glitch! Go get it now! I configured it to my current setup and the price was RM 4.1k without shipping, if I'm not wrong.

Side note: Been looking for other laptops for my gf... Found the Sager NP5125. Configured various setups... The most high-end (500GB 7200RPM HDD and NOT SSD) costing just RM 2.9k without shipping. So.... cheap and yet so powerful for its class. I'm now totally biased towards these Sagers. LOL! Even their mid-range laptops are awesome.

Anyone thinking of/have ordering/ordered the NP5125?

Hey guys, if I buy through Mucro Asia, there is no tax on the price listed on their website in MYR right? Like there isn't the "7% tax".

How much is shipping, in RM?

No tax as far as I know/when I bought mine. Shipping, I used TNT (the fastest shipping option), RM 205. smile.gif

Ahh I see thanks people.

Sager is famous for its quality and reliability. The price for the i5-520 and HD 5650 seems reasonable.
The only downside is I can't get onsite service, and it's pretty hard to get any service for it. No laptop is foolproof or fault-free.

That model is the ugliest one I can see of all the designs sad.gif
